Round 3 - FINALS – Game 1

Topic: FAQs

This is it! After a six month long season which had 27 winners and many more players, we are down to just two. Perhaps you felt a pang of fear when you saw todayâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s topic. It has been a favorite of KatKwiz questions because it holds so much useful information. Todayâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s questions are only related to FAQs in that they ask about a subject in the FAQs. The FAQs may or may not contain any secret words. Good Luck!

1. Have you ever just sat down and read the FAQs like a book? Why or why not?

2. Do you more often tend to start new threads or do you tend to add comments to threads already started?

3. Can you remember back to when you registered on TCS? How long did it take you to pick a user name?

4. Do you now feel quite confident in being able to search the forums and threads to find information that is of concern to you?

5. Do you know the difference between announcements and stickies? Do you read both announcements and stickies?

6. By now you have probably encountered situations where one member sees one thing and another member sees something else. This has come up in KatKwiz several times. I happen to use Internet Explorer 7. What browser do you use and why? Do you think TCS should require us to all use the same browser so we all see the same things?

7. Members List has been a popular KatKwiz topic, especially using the advance search function. What types of information do you look for when you go to Members List?

8. How often do you go to User CP? What types of things to you do when you go to User CP?

9. How often to you send PMs? What kinds of things is it that prompts you to send a PM?

10. Do you like to use lots of smilies in your posts? Would you say that it is indeed true that sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words?

Well, Marianjela, I wanted to give you a good challenge, but this is my shortest response yet! Sadly, I was WAY too busy at work to spend the time writing this, and now I have to leave again in a few minutes so I had to squeeze it in where I can! So, best of luck, friend!

1. Have you ever just sat down and read the FAQs like a book? Why or why not?

Believe it or not, yes I have. For one thing, I love to read. When I was a kid, I always had my nose in a book! Plus, when I get bored, if Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m on here, then itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s great to wander around and read extra things, like the announcements and stickies and yes, the FAQ! Also, I think itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a good habit then when you go anywhere new, if there is an FAQ section, to read it. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s educational! Especially a place like here that is a forum that you will be participating in! Then itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s really good to know the rules and procedures and how to do things. So, not only do I enjoy reading and learning, but itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s also fun and good to know. Though not really the most entertaining thing on here, he he. Oh, and of course, Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve also read them sometimes for the KatKwiz and because of the KatKwery! Well, actually, now that I think about it, I guess I havenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t read them like a book. A book to me is still a bound bunch of pieces of paper! But I have just read them to read them, which I think is the point of your question.

2. Do you more often tend to start new threads or do you tend to add comments to threads already started?

More often than I not, I like to comment to pre existing threads. Usually I do that because I have more to add to other peoples threads, either silly stories or honest questions or concerns or just my input and experience. And there are a lot more people out there starting threads, and Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m only one person! So even if I started one thread a day (any more and Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d be worried about spamming the forums!), thereâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s still a lot more every day that I can comment on.
Though of course, I do start my own threads, too. The whole reason I first joined TCS was to ask a question about Evieâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s behavior. I had done a search on the issue I was looking up, but I couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t find it. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s not that it was there, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s that I was calling it something else! So, naturally, I had decided to post my own thread to ask! And of course, if I want to share pictures, then I definitely have to start my own thread, donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t want to hijack some one elseâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s!

3. Can you remember back to when you registered on TCS? How long did it take you to pick a user name?

Hah, yes, it wasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t that long ago! Ok, maybe it was… Two years ago? Wow, time flies! But I do remember, it took me quite a bit longer than it usually takes me. Usually, I use one standard name for everything, because itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s easier to remember. But after reading on here a bit and seeing other peopleâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s names and realizing that this is a special site and I should use a special name, I knew pretty instantly that I didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t want to use the same old user name. Yes, even though this is the first forums Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve ever been on, I do have a standard user name I use for other things! So since I knew it needed to be special, I knew I wanted it to be about Evie in some way. At first, I was thinking that maybe it should be about Evie, but in some generic way, like “cat†or something. I probably considered something really generic and already taken like “CatLover†or something. I was considering that because I know that Evie wonâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t be around forever, and I may one day add more kitties to my zoo, so it shouldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t be specific. But then I decided that no matter what, even if I add more or when Evie dies, I definitely signed on because of her and she is my first cat! So I decided to go with her name, after all. And of course, since sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s not my cat, I am instead her human, I needed a name to reflect that! So thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s the thought process I went through to get to my name, it probably took about as long for me to pick BelongsToEvie as it did for you to read this! Maybe 30 seconds or so. Which is pretty fast, but still longer than usual, since I usually know pretty quickly that Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll just use my normal name!

4. Do you now feel quite confident in being able to search the forums and threads to find information that is of concern to you?

Quite comfortable? Hah, no! Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m never quite comfortable doing anything on any computer. He he. Though I have done a lot for my own research reasons and of course due to KatKwiz and Kwery! Yay! I think my biggest problem with using the search feature is that my vocabulary seems to be different than most people. For example, when I was trying to figure out what it meant when Evie did what I was calling “Love Nibblesâ€, I couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t find anything! Seems people usually refer to it as a few other things. And when Jackâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s eye was goopey, I couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t find that, either, because itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s called something else. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s even buried in a sticky in that forum, but because I was looking for something else, I didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t find it! So thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s my incompetence, which is why I still donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t feel “quite†comfortable. Though definitely more comfortable, and much more experienced! Experience is a good thing!

5. Do you know the difference between announcements and stickies? Do you read both announcements and stickies?

Yes and yes! Well, I know how they are treated differently. Though technically I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know why one thing is made into an announcement and why one into a sticky. From observation, it seems more that announcements are intended to make people aware of a time limited thing, like the specialists we have come in. But of course, the Secret Santa stuff is also time limited, and yet it is made in to a sticky. So even though I know there is a difference and I know the technical difference- one being at the top of the forums in a special box, the other being a normal thread in the forums that is stuck on top by the mods- I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know who chooses it to be one or the other or what criteria they base that on.

6. By now you have probably encountered situations where one member sees one thing and another member sees something else. This has come up in KatKwiz several times. I happen to use Internet Explorer 7. What browser do you use and why? Do you think TCS should require us to all use the same browser so we all see the same things?

Oh yes, I can think of a few times on the Kwizes that people have seen different things! I also use IE (internet explorer) 7. I think… Well, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s different on each of my computers. The one Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m on now, my home laptop, I think has IE 7. I just tried to check and now I canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t figure it out! Argh, I wonder about me sometimes. I know on my home desktop, that mainly my husband uses and not me quite as much, we have, oh, what it, Mozilla Firefox. And I believe my work laptop is the same as this- IE 7. Why do I use them? Simply because I am a simple person and that is what we have! Hah. Both the laptops came with this internet, so I use it. My husband has decided to put Firefox on the desktop, so I use that. I am quite simple and a creature of habit! I really canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t tell much of a difference, except internet explorer is blue, and firefox is orange-ish.

I absolutely do not think TCS should require us all to use the same browser! That would be a pain! I already use two different ones at least, and if I couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t access TCS on one of them Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d panic! Plus some systems either canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t handle or canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t handle as well certain programs. I know another laptop that got some kind of virus that demolished internet explorer, so he had to switch to Mozilla. So if he wanted to be on TCS but they made you use IE, heâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d just be screwed, heâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d have no choice. Plus, I think the only time itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been an issue is during the KatKwizes, and not to be selfish, but since you use IE 7, those like me that use it too are at an advantage, and I certainly wonâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t complain about that!

7. Members List has been a popular KatKwiz topic, especially using the advance search function. What types of information do you look for when you go to Members List?

Wow, unfortunately, I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t use it very often, really only for or at least because of (theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re usually done by the time I get there) KatKwiz. In fact, even though Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m really thinking hard, I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t think Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve ever looked for anything in particular on there for a personal reason (as in not a Kwiz). Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve looked at it, but more out of boredom and curiosity just to see what there is to see rather than looking for something. I guess I could use it to look up names, locations, cats, post count, things like that, but honestly, Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m just not that interested.

8. How often do you go to User CP? What types of things to you do when you go to User CP?

Again, I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t use this very often. On this site, I guess I am really only here for the social aspect of it! All these technical things just donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t matter that much to me. Really, I think I only use it when my fosters change and I update my signature. I did use it once to try to upload a custom avatar, only to realize that I am too “young†for it! I wasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t at a high enough rank for a custom, so I looked through my newly accessible ones, and ends up, I liked the one I already have best! So other than signatures and avatars and again, the Kwizes and Kweries, I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t think Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve used it for much. Unless the private messages are under that somewhere, too! I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t think they are, but since I usually use the short cut under my logged in name to access that, I really donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know and they might be!

9. How often to you send PMs? What kinds of things is it that prompts you to send a PM?

Not as often as Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d like! I like to ramble so Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d love to have more “friends†on here to randomly chat to, but honeslty, I just donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t. Thereâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a lot of people I really like on here, but no one that I chat privately too. Thereâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been a few little chat like things Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve had with a few people, but they tend to only last a few messages worth. Other than just chatting, weâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve PMed to set up the get together, Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve talked to a few people about other things like chinchillas and my dogs, and of course to thank people for gifts! Oh, and canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t forget all the PMs Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve sent to you about the KatKwiz and Kweries and that last stupid one about the play offs! ;lol3: Oh, and a few for some other games and such.

10. Do you like to use lots of smilies in your posts? Would you say that it is indeed true that sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words?

I LOVE smilies! He he, they are so much fun! Theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re cute and indeed, yes, a picture is worth a thousand words and these are no exceptions. I am very sarcastic and silly, and I really worry sometimes that something I say will come off wrong, so I add in something like
to make the point that Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m not serious! And, to be honest, though I like to write and can do a good job of expressing what I mean without pictures, I think they really bring the writing to life. Even the ones that arenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t animated make the post seem more human, more alive. Since in person, we usually have tone of voice, body language, and expressions to get across a lot more than our words alone, this helps to level that playing field.

Ok, today was a Pittsburgh day, so I am tired. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s been a long, busy day, I think we spend more time in the car traveling than we actually do in the doctorâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s office. I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t know why but itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s always exhausting. I took my laptop with us, but unfortunately I couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t get logged into their network. I was hoping to at least look at the questions and get started with my reply and just update later at home, but sadly I could not get signed in. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d say this might be my shortest reply yet, but Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m learning my lesson.

My daughter is at her job and she just called to say sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s working another late night and has got to close, so once again I will be waiting up for her; as usual my husband is already up in bed. Old fart! It only takes him seconds to fall asleep, but I would lay in bed for hours without her being home. It definitely takes me forever to fall asleep without distraction. I wonâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t be able to sleep until sheâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s home anyway.

1. Have you ever just sat down and read the FAQs like a book? Why or why not?
No, I cant say that I have ever sat down and read through the whole FAQ like a book. Usually when I go there to read something it is for a particular question either regarding KatKwiz or KatKwery or one of my own. I admit though that I have read through a bunch of the questions and answers in a row while looking for an answer. I went in there tonight and did take a good glance at them again today just to refresh my memory, but I didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t really read much. I wanted to be a little prepared for some of the questions I am answering.

I am interested in a lot of the frequently asked questions there, and I am forever going there accidentally instead of my User Cp. I should switch my home page back to the User CP so I stop doing that. Sometimes out of boredom I will go in there to read the rules and see if I can come up with my own KatKwiz question to ask and PM to you Lee, but I always forget what I come up with. Which figures.

2. Do you more often tend to start new threads or do you tend to add comments to threads already started?
More often than not I tend to reply to comments in threads instead of starting my own threads. Although I have made my own before itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s just not my normal thing to do. If I cant find an answer to my question anywhere else or after a search I definitely will ask. Or if I have some stories to share and such I will post a new thread in the appropriate forums. One night when I was bored I sorted the threads my number of views and replies and read some of the ones that had the most. I wander around the site on occasion just to read past topics, but it seems I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have enough time lately. I like to take advantage of the articles posted outside the forums too (like under cat behavior), and will read a section on cats here and there bit by bit.

3. Can you remember back to when you registered on TCS? How long did it take you to pick a user name?
When I joined TCS over 3 years ago, I picked my username almost immediately. As luck would have it, it wasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t already taken, otherwise it might have taken me some time to choose. However my name was available, and it was an easy choice. I am a genealogy fanatic and when the internet first became a household item and when AOL was still the most popular internet service provider (ISP) it took me longer. I spend a great deal of my alone time on the net doing research on my family tree I remember when I first picked my username for that; it took me some time to ponder my ideas and even then it wasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t my favorite and has since been changed. After 3 or 4 different names and changes for different things, like user names and emails, I finally settled on the Italian version of my name Marianjela. Originally it was MariANJELa because my father used to always call me his angel when I was younger, but I eventually just left it typed normally for better clarification. You seem to be able to see it so much easier once I made the change this way I think.

I think usernames can be and are as interesting as personalized license plates. I love trying to figure out or finding out the meaning behind them sometimes, and I really enjoy seeing everyoneâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s custom signatures. Most of them are so cute, and after a while, you get to know your friends by the signature or avatar they have.

Some people will choose a different handle for different sites like game sites and message boards, but I think that can eventually get confusing cause you to forget everything one chooses. Not to mention getting used to being called by different names, everyone calling you this and that. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve limited my best choices to two and even then I forget which one I used sometimes. If I knew then what I know now… I needed to choose just one and stick with it, with a universal password as well.

4. Do you now feel quite confident in being able to search the forums and threads to find information that is of concern to you?
I feel quite experienced with the search and advanced search features. We have used them enough times with the Kwiz and Kwery that I am fairly comfortable using them to find things in the forum posts and threads. I use the search feature when I am searching for a particular subject or if I am looking for something by a certain user. Or even a combination of both. If I am looking for something simple and fast, I will just plug it into the search field above and it almost instantly returns the results, but if I am looking for a post by a specific member, then Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll input the stuff into the advanced search page.

5. Do you know the difference between announcements and stickies? Do you read both announcements and stickies?
Yes, I believe I know the difference between a sticky and an announcement. Technically, announcements are special messages posted by the administrator or moderators. They are simple one-way communication and the biggest difference is that you can't reply. Theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re displayed at the top of forums pages, above regular and sticky threads. On the other hand, stickies can start out as threads and if someone deems them as important, they can be made into a sticky that will remain as a thread at the top of itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s particular forum or sub-forum. Ann uses announcements to make us aware of special guests and let us know when theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll be here. Stickies naturally have useful information that the mods turned into stagnant post. To get technical, they are meant to give practical information so that a frequently asked question doesnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have to be repeated often, but some people never look at them and it doesnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t matter anyway. Thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s not true, honestly, it is relevant, plenty of member do read them and the time saved is valuable to other people, including themselves.

Stickies are also helpful to point out the rules of the boards. Sometimes you shouldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t post unless youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve read them first to be sure you are following everything you should. They can bring a lot of useful information into one easily accessible place so that they arenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t scattered all over or so they donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t get buried by other posts and needing a *bump*.

I know we covered the criteria needed to become a sticky. We talked about this in a Kwiz or Kwery before.

6. By now you have probably encountered situations where one member sees one thing and another member sees something else. This has come up in KatKwiz several times. I happen to use Internet Explorer 7. What browser do you use and why? Do you think TCS should require us to all use the same browser so we all see the same things?
I use Mozilla FireFox all of the time as my current browser, but I do on occasion use Internet Explorer (IE) version 7 to check something out or to make sure everything is working correctly. I absolutely love FireFox, I couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t imagine if TCS would require us to use anything else. I know that every browser tends to display things differently, I have a website/blog that I will test in different browsers after I am done working on them or designing them to make sure everything displays properly. It can be frustrating when for the ones that do not, yet I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t see how anyone could corner the market on any one browser. Especially now when thereâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s so many to choose from.

7. Members List has been a popular KatKwiz topic, especially using the advance search function. What types of information do you look for when you go to Members List?
First off, I personally appreciate that you can get to the memberâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s list through the quick links. It makes it very convenient when you are looking for something. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve looked around the list on a few occasions outside of the KatKwizes. I have looked up a friend on their, and I may sort by a particular field to browse through peopleâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s avatars or cat pictures people put on their personal cat pages. I will also sort my everyone elseâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s username to see how clever some of them are and try and figure out what they mean. I liked to order them by “last visit†too and try to tell who might still be active. One day, out of curiosity, I decided to sort them by number of posts. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m pretty sure you can sort by least amount of posts or the most. Oh! And I almost forgot about the profile pictures, should they have any uploaded, I often wonder who looks like what, it helps to be able to put a name with a face, even if it is a feline mug
. It really helps to be able to see them all listed in the same locations! Unless they donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have one to add or upload to the site.

8. How often do you go to User CP? What types of things to you do when you go to User CP?
Actually, I guess I go to my User CP on a daily basis! To be honest, about several times a day at least. I access my subscriptions from there. I used to have it set as my home page, except then I switched it to my bank where I would remember to transfer my points to earn interest. I need to switch my homepage back to my User CP and just get into a good habit of checking my existing points and transferring the extra ones more regularly. In fact I think Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll do that now, should only take me a couple minutes to go to my bank per day.

Why people leave their points sitting outside their bank Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll never know… well, of course, unless some of them just donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t care about the points… I know there are exceptions (for example: needing points to transfer to someone of give a gift) but still.

9. How often to you send PMs? What kinds of things is it that prompts you to send a PM?
Relatively, I rarely send private messages (PMs). A couple a week if that. Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s probably better to measure them by months. Well, I checked my PM box and I only sent 8 for the month of September. Of course, some of them have been erased mainly because my mailbox is limited, so itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a little hard to count. Maybe if I had a larger inbox, I would write more. I was writing to a friend earlier though, so it all depends on how much time I have. Thereâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s no set standard. Also how much I feel like itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s worth cleaning up my mailbox after I receive them and send those. A lot of times, my emails are short and are simply sent to say thank you for gifts or something. Currently my message box is sitting at a high 90%, I am always worried about going over my limitations. I have tried to clean it up, constantly it seems - but havenâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t done it recently – but itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s seems like never-ending work! So forgive me if you cant send me a message one day, but I do indeed try. I came on earlier with intentions of doing a cleanup after I got a PM but kind of got side-tracked. Time is always an issue. Remember when youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re a young kid and you always wanted to grow up? Now that weâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re grown up we want to go back!

I have considered becoming a paid member just for the benefit of more storage space alone! If I complain to my hubby enough I might get it for Christmas, considering itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s something I want but donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t want to spend money on casually. Well, we gave games to the kids for the computers, so as far as this concerns them, this is my fun and games.

10. Do you like to use lots of smilies in your posts? Would you say that it is indeed true that sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words?
A picture is certainly worth a thousand words. Sometimes a thought can come out the wrong way and a smiley can help set the tone of the message. Smilies can help when expressing a comment or response. Sometimes you might sound serious when you really just intended to be funny and silly, and other times you might come across sounding sarcastic. When you donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have eye contact, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s hard to tell what someone is thinking on the computer so the expressions the emoticons make are life-savers in the virtual world. The last thing you want to worry about on these social-sites is to be taken the wrong way during a conversation due to lack of communication or emotion. That said, I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t like to over-use the emoticons, I think each of them are cute in their own right, but too many is over-powering and distracting. Sometimes itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s a challenge to choose different ones and space them apart so that theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re seen better. One thing I like about TCS is youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re not stuck with the same stupid choices every time. And if you cant find what youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re looking for, you can always upload it as an image.

I wish there was a way that I could present the outcome the way it is revealed to me, like in baseball, an inning at a time. The only difference would be that a KatKwery Finals game has ten innings instead of nine. Here are the results an inning at a time:

1. Neither member used the word part. 0 - 0

2. Only marianjela used points. 0 - 1 (second number is home team)

3. Both members used forever. 1 - 2

4. Neither member used engine. 1 - 2

5. Both members used stuck. 2 - 3

6. Both members used find. 3 - 4

7. Both members used friends. 4 - 5

8. Both members used want. 5 - 6

9. Only BelongsToEvie used secret. 6 - 6

10. Both members used easier. 7 - 7

Marianjela wins because of seed position. And this has been in the rules since day one. I actually had been harping on this because the playoffs have been run just like pro sports except for the home field advantage. Instead of home field advantage, the higher seeds had the advantage of winning any tie games. This is the first time it has happened.

When all was said and done, there were only two words that both missed. Both missed part. How could they have missed part? Both missed engine. That was the toughie but if you look at the question it was associated with, I am sure you can see DW's logic. Points was only used by marianjela (in the context I expected), and secret, well what have we been talking about for six months? Secret!

Whereas this is sad for BelongsToEvie, it does show that marianjela CAN be beaten.

There are now one or two games left. If marianjela wins or ties the next game, she will be the 2008 KatKwery Champion. If BelongsToEvie wins the next game, there will be one last game that decides everything.

PLEASE CHECK BEHIND ME!!! Make sure I have not made a mistake. It has happened before.

Game 2 will be posted Monday morning between 9 - 10 am Central time.

Shwew, that was close! Congratulations BelongsToEvie, way to make me sweat it out.

Good luck Monday! I almost hate to see it end, but I will actually be so relieved when it is!

Thanks Lee!!! This has been a fun ride.

BTW - I loved the play-by-play, it really made me sweat it out.

I think I am still in shock!
Yeah, I liked the play by play, too, nerve wracking!!

Yeah, I knew about the seed position all along, but boy, never thought it'd come in to play here! Good job Marianjela!
I think we only tied because you had such a long day. And if you weren't distracted waiting for your daughter, you would have got all 10, for sure!

I'm like you both, in a way I can't wait for the finals
, and in a way, I'll be sad when it's gone!

Thanks always to Persi & Alley for giving me something to obsess about all weekend!!!

Let's go team!
