Well, phooey. I had thought by the time I got back Jill would have opened and posted her last gift.
I had went to my friends house for Christmas as we do every year, Dh stayed home in bed resting and trying to heal, have the last one opened and pics taken and uploaded, and will let everyone in on the last bit now!
Ok, so the last box I got was:
It did rattle like something fierce too!
Inside were these:
Aren't they pretty? 4 little charms for my cell or zipper pulls. I am worried about breaking or losing them so I may hang them in the windows like sun catchers, or in the car. So they can be seen, but not get caught on something or broken.
It's Christmas time, oh Christmas time!
I got spoiled by Wildfire203! And I suspect she had some help - she got me chocolates all the way from New Zealand! As well as lots of yummies from Germany. I love the "extra dunkel" Lindt.
I got two wonderful cookbooks, one is written in Chinese as well as English so the recipes will be very authentic. I'm looking forward to trying them out. The other cookbook is about freezing dinners, which is something I've been meaning to do for a while now.
Pushkin got Da Bird, which he went crazy over! It rocks!
Wiggies got a spider which I thought for some obscure reason was an octopus! He ran off with it straight away. They also got a bag of catnip and Temptations, as well as a bag of little toys.
I got: some wonderful cashmere socks, luscious Lush soap, jasmine tea buds (which I'm drinking now and is very good!), a picture of Neuschwanstein castle, a cute beer stein, a cozy blanket, and a cool domino game that we'll try on New Year's.
Everything was wrapped up nicely and it was a lot of fun ripping into them this morning!
Pushkin guarding the presents. I couldn't get a shot without him!:
Mmmm, tasty "Da Bird":
Wiggies took off with his "octopussy":
Cute little beer stein:
Yummy yummy yummy!!
Yummy little chocolate hazelnut ornaments:
The lovely castle picture:
Thank you Katelyn for your very generous and thoughtful gifts. You obviously did lots of research!
Great gifts everyone!
and more Tim Tams... I looked at my Target this morning for them, but no such luck I may have to have some imported.....
This is aventurine, naturally green, and you can use it as a pendant. Remove it from the little lariat and put a chain or cord through the bail (Triangular loop.)
Aw, geez. Thank you. I had fun getting things in your favorite color and digging through all my bead boxes.
Then I opened one gift, a duck! I'm thinking, why would she send over a duck??? Little did I know that this is a multi-tasking duck. It's a keychain and when you squeeze it, it quacks and has a LED light that comes on. As you can see the cats loved it too and my neighbours will be able to tell when I arrive home at night! If I ever visit you Karen, just listen for the duck sound as my arrival call.
Next, she spoiled Steve and Gigi! And here's a card from Abby:
Ricky the Rodent was a HUGE hit. Now, if I went to the petstore I wouldn't have picked it up since I thought it was too big. Little do I know! Steve lunged at it and wouldn't let it go! He was even flinging it up into the air!
Here's the two cats with their favourite toys. Steve, with Ricky the Rodent and Gigi with a catnip sack and the Christmas springy toy. Look at Gigi. No dignity at all!!
Gigi with her catnip apple. Look at the wild look in her face! When I finally took it from her, it was all soaking wet. At least she enjoyed it!
And here's Steve after the whole event. Totally wiped out!
Also, Karen sent me rocks!!! I them! They are now sitting on my almost complete fireplace mantle. Yep, still doing the renos.
And here's the description of them:
Karen, as I already told you, you are amazing! I'm blown away by your generosity and thoughtfulness. You even selected better gifts than Rob would get me!
OK, FINALLY - I had a case of "teenagers using Mom's laptop all day" yesterday!
Hmmm...did someone try to open this one already?
OK, so the haul was:
Dark chocolate Kit Kats, which I LOVE, and I think you can only get in the UK, Other cool things to eat - fruit pastilles, Cadbury Cranberry and Granola (wow!), Walker's Shortbread, and 2 special gifts from a) Hotel California in Paris, and the MacDonald Berystede Hotel & Spa.
Also a super-cute teddy from Conrad of London, Mango body lotion, 2 beautiful cat books - one with photos, another about the unconditional love given by cats. (aw!), and of course, Sudoku toilet paper!!!
Kitties got catnip drops, fuzzy mice that they go nuts over, and even the puppies got "shoes" to chew on and a squeaky rubber bone!
Thank you SS, Jessy (And Roxy and Villy), but I don't think you've been on for a while! But I love the gifts!!!!!!
More from Helen (Bella713)
Bath and Body works Evergreen room spray (which I'd been looking for!)
Super soft socks!
Hawaiian shirt napkins, which will look adorable in my Hawaii themed kitchen!
Two (!) sets of B&B works soaps and lotions!
Then I took one of the catnip toys, and snuck it to Jin in her secret lair. Please ignore the Jin-fur encrusted blanket. It's Jin's little place, and Sabina can't disturb her! She loves her private little toy, and is currently curled up around it...again!
Thank you so much Helen! You made our Christmas very happy!
Kim I love you!!! (no she wasn't my SS but she is so speacial as I am sure most of you already know!)
My SS gift came in today, I haven't gotten it yet though, so I have no idea who it is from, but I wanted them to know it did come.
I had to move a few days before thanksgiving due to a house fire, (only kim and two other people were aware of the desaster my life has been,) but that it was time to let a few poeple know what was going on, especially my SS. Which is why they have not recieved my gift to them yet. I am so sorry to my recipiant, but they will get their gift. I had made something I thought was nice but it smelled really bad because of the smoke damage from the fire, and the rest of their gifts got lost due to moving. We had to stay at a motel (thanks to the red cross) then my daughter got very sick and was hospitalized. We were out of the hospital and the motel thanksgiving morning, but didn't have any home to go to and have had to stay with friends and family for a couple of weeks, we are now in a place but every thing is in such choas I couldn't find any of their gift and couldn't afford to buy any thing else for them either. BUT things are comming together a little for us and I had to remake the gift I made, so please forgive me my ss recipiant for your gift comming so late, I had no intetion of having this happen and running out of time with moving and my daughter having to have test done for her kidneys (vcug, ect) I hope my ss and every one else understands and isn't too mad at me.
Any way, my mother in law lived on the other side of my house (a duplex) which is still there because my brother and I put the fire out before the whole place burned down, and I get my mail there, she has called me and told me mine came today and all I know is it is from virginia (or says it is, I know some of you can be sneaky and that may not even be where it is from at all) When I do get it here (my boyfriend dropped our daughter off at nannys and picked it up for me) and I find out who it is from I will post and personally thank my ss.
I am sorry I had this happen and my ss had to wait because of my life being a mess, I know they must be wondering why they havent gotten hers yet.
Okay, I finally have the pics uploaded! Here are the gifts from my amazing SS, Helen (Bella713).
Sabina was smitten with this box...one of Helen's kitties must have touched it!
Notice her "open mouth smelling"?
Hey Mommy, you're interrupting my chill session. What's that? You said there might be something for me?
Me Me Me, where's the fun stuff for Me!
the gifts, unopened
The gifts opened without the cat's...I made them wait for theirs! P. S. Those are my scissors
Card with hints, kato clay that I can't find anywhere around here!, a pocket mirror, coffee, 'yellow snow' tee hee!, stickers (hello kitty) and butter toffee peanuts
awesome pomegranate bath and body stuff, Indian spiced chai tea, warm fuzzy blanket which I've used already, warm fuzzy socks that I'm wearing right now. and I cut off some really cool foot creams that look really amazing.
Taffy, tea lights, a wax melter scent thingy that I know I know the name for but can't remember it right now! And a gingerbread house. Don't forget the kitties got toys on Christmas and I'll upload them too.
Oh and a GREAT cat calendar that I already took to school. AND a french crossword book that I will have to fight my father for.
Thank you SO much Nikki, you were so kind and thoughtful - it was much needed at this time of year when family things sometimes become overwhelming.
