Would he still show interest in a female cat that is in heat? I was just wondering as he was showing a little more interest in going out a few days ago than he normally would. More like he was desperate to go out. So, with him being neutered, I know that he can't do the deed but I also thought, I don't know why, but I thought that he wouldn't be interested in a girl on heat? Maybe it was something else or maybe he can still be 'interested' just not able, does anyone know? Thanks

If he's been recently neutered (in the past 2 months) - he still can breed and get a female in heat pregnant! And if he's an older cat that had bred in the past, he still would mentally think he's a tom and would breed females.

Al was fixed when he was about 5-6 months and he had never 'done' it before. I just get the impression at times that he can be a little more excitable than usual!

The adrenal glands (just over the kidneys) produce testosterone as well; more in some individuals than others. If his adrenals are unusually active, he may still have tom-like behavor.
