Hello all,

Felicia is getting lumpier by the day and we're just waiting for the kittens to pop out. A question I've been putting on the backburner since it's not as important right away is this:

I have 4 other cats in the house right now, all males (the 3 adults are neutered, and the 4th is only 4 months old). When can I start introducing the kittens to the other cats? Also, do I need to worry about specifically males and kittens? I've heard that males will kill kittens, but I don't know if that's just feral cats, or intact cats, or if it's even true.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Some adult unaltered males may kill kittens, but I've never experienced it. I would not introduce kittens to the other cats until they have their 1st shots. However, if all the rest of the cats have shots up to date and do NOT go outside, then you can safely introduce them at around 6-8 weeks old.

Many moms are possessive about kittens and you have to go more by her reactions. Keep all other adult cats away for at least the first 2-3 weeks till kittens eyes are open. Mom will be guarding them a lot more the first few weeks.

As far as the 4 month old, he should be no real threat. When will he be neutered?

He'll be neutered within 2 months at the latest, I have to call my vet to see if they do it sooner or if he has to be 6 months old.

Try your best to get it done asap - and not wait till 6 months old. Many vets will neuter at 4-5 months old or younger, you just have to call around. Even if your vet doesn't, I'm sure you can find another that will. Its not like you have to continue using the other vet - just use them to get him neutered sooner
