This may be a stupid question, but why does the size of the state matter in the overall approval ratings? I understand for smaller populations it will change faster, but 80%, 50%, or 20% approval rate is the same regardless of how many people are there. If a person has a state with 4 people in it, 2 agree with the person, 2 don't, it's a 50% approval rate. Same in a state with 1,000,000. I know these are random polls, but doesn't the same principle hold true?
