hello everyone,
I have two male cats Oliver and little Bo, i took Oliver to the vets about his ears they looked dirty and waxy and i thought it may be ear mites, the vet gave me some expensive but meant to be the best ear mite drops. they didn't seem to do anything so i took him back, the vet then said they didn't have ear mites and its just wax so i stared cleaning them more but it comes back after a couple of days. my new kitten has also got the same thing and i don't know what i should do!?!
please can anyone help me and Oliver and Little Bo?
Thanks Becky x x x

Can you try another vet?

Many vets take scrapings of the gunk, put it on a slide and look at it under a microscope. Ear gunk can be from mites, yeast or bacterial infections or just natural build up. Each takes a different treatment.

Are the cats shaking their heads and scratching/pawing at their ears? That's usually from the discomfort of mites or infection.

I would insist my vet take another look or change vets. Especially since the problem seems to be spreading from one cat to another.

Good luck with your babies.
