The other day I was trying to find non-clumping litter for the brats. They immediately tried eating the Fresh Step i use for the adults.

It was late and the pet shops were closed so i went to the grocery store. Walmart Frys and Safeway. the only thing any of them had that kittens couldn't eat was feline pine. The pellets. So i got it.

I put it in the box and put the box in with kitties. But they never used it.

I was sitting in the pen yesterday and happened to look at the littler. I noticed that there was a little pile that was ground up. Almost like it was in a grinder then put back. I was thinking the kittens must have chewed it up and spit it out. GREAT. So i pick up the ground up stuff and try to figure it out. it's not wet, there's no smell. what the heck?

About an hour ago it dawned on me what happened. The kittens DID use the box to pee. not poop. When the pee hit the pellets they dissolve to powder and soak up the moisture.

So basically I was picking up soiled litter, rubbing it through my fingers and smelling it.

Great.

Yeah I do smart things like this all the time. I swear Homer Simpson was based off me
. But yes I most definitely learned something. no question

And no thanks for picking through poo. Just, not thanks.

yes it was definitely a good lesson. Good thing I can laugh at my own dumb stuff or I'd be one bitter man

I've loved this whole process so much. I'm so glad I became a foster parent. It's only half way to adoption now and I'm already excited for my next group.

All these kitties will be adopted FAST. the 4 whities are going to likely be reserved Monday and tuesday

Well, at least it wasn't the solid kind of waste you were sifting through your fingers..
