OK...I read the stickies above, but I have more questions. I typed a long post and then hit the wrong key and lost it ALL. UGH.
In a nutshell, we've had our two cats for over a year and a half. In the past two weeks, I've caught Tom peeing on MY things ONLY. He doesn't touch any other part of the house and it isn't getting on walls or anything.....just straight down PEEING. He isn't clingy, but when he wants to be patted or wants canned catfood, he lets you know it be it night or day and will sit with you for a long time while you pat him....he is a "talker" of sorts, too.
My son is 20 months and loves to take my clothes out of dresser drawers, clean laundry baskets, hampers, etc. I don't care if it is clothing or even like damp bath towels...it is always MY things..the things I'VE used. Tom has access to seasonal clothing packed in boxes upstairs....doll clothing my daughter has...things like that..yet..it is only my things in our bedroom. I've got to keep a watch on this stuff because if I don't, I never know when Tom is going to have at it. It isn't on a regular basis that he does this....he may do it 3 times a week. Maybe a little more..maybe a little less. So....maybe if he doesn't get his pats in the middle of night...he pees on my things. If I don't give in to giving him canned food, does he get mad and pee??? My cat I had in the mid 90s totally did this. I've CAUGHT her shortly after things have "happened" that made her mad.
Because of this, I am wondering if anyone thinks it sounds more behavior-like than anything else (no walls are wet..just spots on clothes he gets on top of). Granted, I am going to take him in to the vet, but I am curious as to initial opinions of this.
Is there way to curb behavior of THIS type?? A SPITEFUL behavior?? We never could get Angel (cat mentioned from 90s) to stop and she was ruled out of a UTI.
Any insight would be appreciated!
