Last night I went out into the back garden to feed the rabbit, and there was this little lizard just sat there in the middle of the patio!
Obviously we don't get them round here, and especially not this time of year. Anyway, I took this video of it, and was wondering if any of you guys knew anything about lizards and might be able to tell me what kind this is?

He was really tiny, only about 2 inches long!

He looks pink-ish in the video, but he was a pale orange kinda colour.

p.s: he wasn't dead, he started to move afterwards and we put him into the bushes next to our house.

and pps: the thing my mom was prodding him with was a piece of hay, it didn't harm him, we were just checking he was still alive

Now that I look at the tail better, it really looks like a Newt. They are related to salamanders, and often live in water/swampy areas.

Yep....I'm gonna go with Newt. His body shape and tail looks just like one. Considering his color it's probably a good idea you didn't touch him. The newts in our area are black with orange spots and are poisonous. Not enough to kill you, but it could make you sick. Ours get to about 5 inches long. I'm guessing he's a baby.

Thanks peeps!

I asked at the animal care unit and they said a Newt too. But I thought they had webbed feet?

Anyway, we didn't touch him, just with a piece of hay.
