Boy, this is a relief! I was collecting jobless benefits that ran out mid-July, then I took a freelance assignment that ended last Friday. I had gotten a letter from the State of Michigan saying that I might qualify for those emergency extension bennies. Well, I called to find out if that still held true and sure enough, I qualify for half of the original claim.

I would MUCH RATHER be working, but this is at least a safety net for me for the next few weeks. Whew! With the stinky economy here and nationwide (It's worse here than elsewhere with an unemployment rate of nearly 9%), this is some much-needed support.

Anybody need a corporate freelance writer?
