Tonight I had a new feral visitor and he is HUGE! I have never seen a longer and taller cat, and in the dark, under the lights over the feral feeder he looked cougar-like and about scared the wits out of me! He is gorgeous, a creamy tan and orange with a white tail, and just by size alone, I am guessing he is a male (and probably intact) He appeared and all the cats squealed and took off like rockets! Even Ripster who is my lead cat came scrambling in the house. I don't even think I have a trap big enough to hold him! I have never seen him before but he is gorgeous. Pray I can get close to him, earn his trust and get him captured and neutered.

He sounds gorgeous, MA.
Post pics of him if you can.

All my positive thoughts going out to you in capturing him! You're a kitty guardian angel

If that kitty knows what's good for him he'll certainly get himself caught!!!

He sounds beautiful - I'd love to see a picture - if you can get close enough . . .

He was near the hay barn this morning when I went to feed the horses. He was sitting on top of our burn pile. My God, but he is magnificent! He is a creamy tan color- the same color as a cougar- he has orange markings (patches) on his chest and sides and a white tipped tail. He has to be a hybred of some kind- because of his size. He dwarfs my other cats.

I knelt down in the yard (yes in the mud) and just talked to him quietly. Then I rose up slowly and he growled at me- even though there was no way I could have touched him. I turned away from him and slowly made my way to the horses without looking at him again. When I finished feeding, he was gone. There is no way he would fit in any of my traps. This is going to have to be a one-on-one trust building mission. I have a neighbor down the way who insists on raising those large exotic cats-bobcats and the like- I wonder if he is a victim of an accidental cross-breed? He looks to be in good shape overall-my feral feeders have been recently found knocked over, so now I know who did it.

One of the ferals I am caring for is also huge. When I took him to the vet, we found that e weighs 21 pounds! His head is almost the full width of my palm. Although it took months, he now loves to climb in my lap (all 20 pounds of him) and purrs until he drools. He can even knead without scratching bare legs! Amazing for a feral!

I will try to attach his picture.

So would I- and as far as Monster goes- I have no idea how to even guesstimate his size. I will buy some film and start carrying my camera with me to snap a picture of him.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
...a 21 pound cat or a Maine Coon would fit into the traps, so this guy must be HUGE!!!!!

Good luck, MA. If anyone can do this, it's you!
