Hi, I am new to the site! I live in Northern Alberta, Canada, and I have(eeck I hate saying the number) 8 cats. 6 that live in the house and 2 barn cats. All but one of my house cats are related by their Traditional Siamese mother. I have:
Jack 6yr old white female, one blue one green eye, Siamese Maine Coon x
Theo 5yr old female, silver mackerel tabby, Siamese BSH x
Tobi 6yr old female, blue and white, Siamese ASH x
Weeble 3yr old male, seal point, Traditional Siamese
Pudge 3yr old, tiny 3.5lb female, seal point, Traditional Siamese
Mardy 3month old, female, red classic tabby, ASH
All of my house cats except Mardy came from a woman I know who kept breeding her Siamese cat to different toms to see what she would get. All of the kittens I took were in need of immediate help so I helped them.
I got Jack from her since she is solid white and makes great coyote bait so she is not a good barn cat. She was my grandmothers cat until she got to sick to look after her so I took her in. Theo was injured and needed vet care and rest, by the time she healed up I was attached, so she stayed. Tobi was a lunatic half wild kitten that her cat had for some reason had in the attic of the garage and she desperately needed socializing after we caught her at 2months old, so I did it. She still 6 years later is terrified of anyone other than me, So I kept her too. Weeble and Pudge were her cats last litter before she disappeared when they were only 5weeks old. Not before she dropped them while carrying them down a ladder from the barns loft, breaking Pudges leg and Weeble smacked his head causing a inner ear problem that still affects him to this day although much milder. She didn`t want to pay the vet bills and thought they would never recover fully, and was going to put them down. Again I stepped up and took them to the vet and both are perfectly happy healthy 3yr olds now. Finally all of her cats are spayed and neutered so no more unwanted kittens.
The barn cats are two 5month Maine Coon x. Patsy is female shorthair grey and red tabby, and Eddie is a male longhair grey tabby. A neighbour needed to get rid of two barn kittens so I took them since I have a big barn and loads of mice(although they aren`t lacking cat food). I can`t help but spoil my barn cats too. They get good quality food, treats, catnip and they sleep in nice cat beds in the tack room! Everyone says they are my `fake` barn cats! LOL! Instead of playing with real mice you will find them rolling around with a hot pink fuzzy mouse toy!
Well those are my cats, Thanks for listening to me babble on and on!!!
