Why would you do that?

It's always good to go to a lisenced tattoo/piercing parlor if you can so you can let professionally trained folks do your piercings, that way they're done properly and you reduce your risks of infection/etc.

Since I was 16 I've been practicing piercing. My best friend is a professional so we do it all the time. I know how to do the stuff and what not to do. But it hurt like hell.. BUT im okay :-)

You're braver than me, I could never pierce myself, I always go to the tattoo parlor

Try a little bit of ice to numb it up and some otc stuff like advil or tylenol to help the swelling/pain a bit!

I found that I always heal up better when I do salt water soaks and clean with soaps like Provon! Lots of healing vibes headed that way

Glad to hear it went well I meant to send you some vibes earlier but had computer issues and then I forgot. what are your tattoos of. I love tattoos, even if I am not brave enough to get them myself.
I think they are so cool.

Ouch! I definitely wouldn't recommend that but I am certified to ear pierce. I pierce peoples ears all the time, but using a gun and sterilized equipment.

I would rather go pay $15 to get it done than pierce myself.

My friend Kitty pierced mine with a lighter, rubbing alcohol, and a safety pin in the parking lot of Walmart last week.

It wasn't as quick as as the gun, but my ears didn't BURN for an hour after it like it did with the gun, sooo.. I liked it better. Was definitely slower, but didn't hurt that bad.

I figure as long as the instraments you use are clean and your ear is clean and your fingers are clean, go for it! Mine is healing up nicely!

Many years ago(30 years ago yikes!!!) I had my second set of piercings in my ears with the ice cube and needle way. I look back on that and it hurt!!!! The piercing machine works so much better.

With the use of a piercing gun it highly increases chances of an infection.. A needle is clean quick and usually painless. Also, While using ice to numb the spot may make it numb it will also make the area harder to pierce. So it's better just to take the pain because it will go quicker without ice.
