Baby's kittens are 5 weeks old now and starting on canned food.
Yesterday, all her bags on both sides were rock hard and oddly shaped, though she did not seemed bothered by them, other than lying down gingerly.
Today, they look and feel fine, no bruising or tenderness, and she's still producing milk.

Is there any cause for concern that they were so terribly hard yesterday? Anything I should watch for?

Is she still nursing them? If so, it should be ok. If they don't nurse for a few hours sometimes that can happen.

Yes, she still nurses them, I figured it was because she was accidently shut away from them over night.
We didn't know where she had moved them to until yesterday, now that we know, we won't shut her out again

Thanks, I feel better now

That also can happen as they nurse less and less. Sometimes mom produces too much milk. If it happens again, I think you can use a warm washcloth on her tummy for awhile.
