Very sad, local shelter shutting down

That is so sad when that happens.

It also happened in my community last December 1st when the local SPCA was forced to close it's doors due to some bureaucratic nonsense.

That was one of the reason I got Pixie, they phoned all the people who had adopted from them in the two years prior to see if they were interested in adopting again. I had been thinking about adding a third cat to the clan so it was perfect timing for me..

They did manage to adopt out most of the animals that they had with a few going to other shelters in near-by communities..

However it has left a big problem with what to do with strays and feral cats in the area. Some do get caught and sent to other shelters but some just roam because people don't want to bother with the added problem of finding a place to take them..

It is very sad...
