Wait! You've already named two I think - one's Lucky and the other is...ummmline Line Backer or something footballish!

For some reason, the little black one reminds me of Jackie Chan in the movie, "Tuxedo."

If theres any little girls there call one Phoebe, because that's what i was always going to call my 3rd kitten until i was persuaded to get a boy

I could just take one of those right now as well

I was trying some different stuff. it's so hard to get a good picture of a young kitten.

But if I left them in the box they look around a lot more. they feel secure. But then it's imossible to get a good shot. So i stuck the camera in the box and it worked a lot better. VERY hard to get a focus though

I also feel like I"m blinding their poor little eyes that don't work right anyway.
I mean look at hit eyes!

I have to say, this is the first DSLR i've ever had. I know NOTHING about taking real pictures. but so far I think I love this camera. It's unreal how clear the pictures are, and at 10 megapixels they're enormous.

I was going to reduce the quality that the camera takes, but I bought a 16gb sd card, and I can take over 2500 that size on one card. it's great!

The hard part is deciding whether to focus on the eyes, or the nose when you take them this big. if you notice, the eyes are in perfect focus but both the ears and nose aren't.

Oooohhhh!!! I can't believe how cut they are! How many are boys? girls?

You've already named one of the pointed kittens Lucky, right? Since their little champs, you could name them after sports heroes. You like racing, right? Name one of the females Danica. ( I know she doesn't race stock cars, but still....)

Or cars/parts in in general, Hemi, Cam, Beemer, Mercedes (which is a girl's name), Hudson (Hudson Hornet - stock car in the 50s, right?), Charger, Shelby (Cobra) -Shelby can be a girl's name, too. Porsche, Ferrari, Jag, Lotus (now we're getting into exotics! LOL). Harley (Davidson), Triumph.... (motorcycles)

I'm sure you know more about this than I do.

EDIT - those little brown tabby and white babies look like they are going to have very dark stripes, given that their noses are turning dark brown, too. Oh, boy. I wish I could just scoop them up and give them a cuddle and kiss their fuzzy little noggins!!!

man I don't know what I'm thinking. AFTER I took those pictures I replaced their bedding with non-stained stuff. I need to think ahead a little better.

They're getting so cute. Starting to play a lot.

Hey, how many weeks old do they get before I need to have a tiny litter box ready for them?

The SPCA I volunteer at uses group names to make it easier. Since it was kitten season it was so much easier just to do that. Examples:
1 Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge (Simpsonâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s)
2 Mars, Venus, moon, Pluto (Planets)
3 Simba, Nala, Mufasa, Pumbaa (Lion King)

Maybe that can help, naming 7 is a lot LOL.

Just a photography tip for you, since you're concerned about their little eyes. Put some tissue paper/kleenex over the flash. You'll still get the light, but it won't be as intense on their little developing eyes.

My gosh those are some seriously adorable little kittens! That was exactly what I needed to see first thing in the morning!

oh man, I had a whole post written out about the names... Addibe I like some of those. I like the name Danica for sure. I also can't wait until they're big enough I know what their colors will be.

So for sure I'm going to use these names:

Phoebe
Danica
Jackie

Also, Here's a question. Mom still get's really nervous when i pick them out of the box. I REALLY want to grab them all and put them on the bed, but mom gets in the middle no matter what I do. Would it be terrible to lock her in the other room and scoop them all out to the bed? i have yet to take more than two at a time out because she just gets so upset.

That sounds like a great idea. I am probably going to order a flash... can't think of the name. you put these umbrellas up behind you, and the flash lights the whole area, not just the subject. I really want one of these. They'd be GREAT for cat portraits.

Any other kitten picture taking tips?

EDIT: Couldn't help it:

I wouldnt do things at this point that make Mom nervous. You are trying to build trust with her, you dont want to anything to jeopardize that including trying to get better pics.

They are so adorable, really precious. What are the sexes?

When my kittens started climbing out of their basket at a little less than four weeks, I put out the litter boxes. I set one little pan next to each of the regular cat boxes. The kittens didn't do anything with it except try to eat the litter for about a week. Then one of the little girls watched her mother used the litter box and immediately hopped into her own little pan and started digging holes.

They're 5-1/2 weeks old now and all using the boxes most of the time. Mom cat is still cleaning their bottoms occasionally as well. Next thing she needs to do is teach them to cover up instead of just walking away after they finish.

Now what did you say I was supposed to be doing here?
