I have posted about Galipette and Constance, both long haired cats who were long-time residents of our refuge. I took to trying to groom them as neither would do it themselves, and they were both covered with mats, though Galipette's were worse as she would allow no-one near her. I was having some success, and they were both more comfortable.
But sadly, both my old girls have died in the last month. I have not been tot he refuge for two weeks, as my parents were here and I had to stay with them. But today I found out the Galipette has died of her longstanding bronchial problems and Constance succombed to old age. I am sad, though they were both very miserable, and maybe they are better off at the Bridge.
RIP old ladies - it is so sad you both had to spend so much of your lives at the Shelter, and I wish I could have done more for you.
