I just heard that Paul Newman's spokesman has just announced that Newman died yesterday of cancer. He was 83 years old.

That is bad. EM vehicles always leave with lights on, even in a non life threatning situation. Off is dead.
I am so saddened by this. Goodbye screen icon, sex symbol to countless women (and men) creator of some damn good sauce
I have no more words.

ETA They leave with lights on if a person is in there, they dont if the call does not require transport. They also have lights if the person is dead, I have just been informed by a friend who is a paramedic.

He lived his life in such an elegant way.

Rest in peace Paul Newman.

Sorry, I got two threads combined. The emergency vehicles were next door to me. The Paul Newman thing was an official announcement.

Paul Newman dies.

One of the lines used on msn was "Enviable Life", and it seemed just that...a fantastic career, a seemingly happy family and great marriage, a thriving business with a charitable reputation. What a great, full life!

RIP Paul Newman

He was a great icon and inspiration. It is a reminder of our own mortality when our heroes get old and die. RIP Paul.

I was sad to hear this but what a great legacy he leaves. Not only his films, Cool Hand Luke was one of my favorites, but his charitable foundation that will keep giving. His work to provide sick children a place to go in his Hole in the Wall camps and his many other charitable contributions should be an inspiration to all that can give.

RIP Paul Newman, my thoughts are with all his loved ones, especially his wife, Joanne Woodward.
