I think my cat might have a urinary tract infection but I'm not sure and I don't want to jump to conclusions if it maybe just that we changed her diet just recently. Yesterday she started acting weird. She is licking her anal opening a lot and she will squat like she is going to the bathroom in random places, but she doesn't, or little drops of urine will come out. Other than that she seems to be going to the bathroom fine and purrs, etc.

These are certain signs that she has a urinary tract infection. Please call your vet now and get her in. These infections can really be nasty if not dealt with immediately.

Good luck!

Well, we took our beloved Oakley in and although it's not definate she probably has an uti, poor thing. We didn't get to ask many questions as they were swamped, but I was wondering, what are the typical costs to treat this, I know this will vary depending on where you live, but we are really really tight on cash right now and have this horrible feeling it's going to cost tons. Maybe we feel that as we've had her for 5 years and have never had any problems. Any info would be great!

It really depends on how severe it is, as well as the prices in your area for an office call. Typically here, I spend $35.00 for the office visit and around the same for medication.

I am merging your two threads together as they are based on the same cat and the same information.

Thank you for merging them, sorry, I'm new here and other forums I have been on to get any response I felt like I had to do a whole new thread. Thanks for the info, hopefully we detected it in the early stages but that was about the cost I was thinking so thanks!
