ckblv, with all due respect, I am surprised that you are citing a website like this as a source of information - especially considering that when the shoe was on the other foot (about Palin and the rape kits) you categorically denounced sources as trashy as this one as being unreliable.
What this site depicts is one side of something where there is no corroboration and not even a full name. Indeed, another similar site with the same "story" exhorts the readers to write to the Mayer of Burlington to inquire if it is even true.http://excusemeforkickin.blogspot.co...urlington.html

I think it has more to do with death threats. Considering that a member of the Board of Directors of the NRA has openly threatened to kill both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, I can see why Obama wouldn't want banners at a rally in Missouri. Nice place to hide behind and fire a gun, isn't it?
|Ted Nugent, NRA Board Member, Threatens to Kill Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton During Vicious Onstage Rant
Renegade right-winger Ted Nugent recently went on a vicious onstage rant in which he threatened the lives of Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Decked out in full-on camouflage hunting gear, Nugent wielded two machine guns while raging, “Obama, he’s a piece of ****. I told him to *******. Hey Hillary,†he continued. “You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless *****.†Nugent summed up his eloquent speech by screaming “freedom!â€
Nugent is still
on the BoD of the NRA. Kinda fits in with the NRA philosophy, right? I mean Charleton Heston said he wanted to lynch Al Gore at a Bush rally eight years ago. Do you really still want to be using the NRA as a shining example of someone whose free speech is being violated because they can't say whatever they want in their ads?
