Apparently gas is too expensive for the people across the street from us.
So expensive that we just caught them syphoning gas out of my car

They're drug addicts who are living in a house with no power, no water or anything but a generator. We just caught them and the police didn't do a damn thing!!!

They told us "Welcome to Clearwater and invest in a locking gas cap"

So there goes $20.00 in gas

I wonder if the generator is stolen, too? Since they don't have water you may want to find a way to keep them from using your's...

They've actually been stealing water from the neighbor across the street.. Her water bill went up to $300.00 a month
She reported it but was told until she can prove it they can't do anything

Or a shotgun with some non lethal rounds or rock salt packed shells. If they're that close to a person's house they could be considered "prowlers" that are "scaring" the owners...

^If the dog runs off the property there could be trouble, and/or depending on the city's rules you may end up losing your dog because he'd be considered vicious.
Plus, you don't know if anyone prowling around your house has a knife.
In fact if you and your kids are ever home alone, you may want to consider something to protect yourself with since you live near people like that... you never know if they or someone else that comes to their house will get desperate for money...

Someone tell my imagination to stop thinking up bad scenarios.

People like that drive me crazy. My very good friend has spent six years in lock up for something stupid but you can use drugs and keep on stealing from people and they wait until you become violent to do anything to you. James committed fraud when he was like 18 or 19 and has been in jail since then, he messed up when he was younger, he has learned from his mistakes but I think the punishment was bit more than it should fit the crime. My neighbor was murdered by her grandson before they got him off for the drugs.

If you catch them again, you could call the police and tell them you just shot them. Wonder how quickly they'd be there? By the way, that would be technically legal in Texas (shooting them), although it's not something I'd ever do.

Okay, the locking gas cap is a good idea for just about everyone nowadays.
Why didn't the police look in to their drug use? Can you prove that?
