I just moved to a new place. The cat that has been living here isn't getting along with Gorilla. They usually keep their distance (although they will stare at eachother from afar, and sometimes make angry throaty noises), but every time they get close to eachother they get tense, hiss, and yowl at eachother. It's been about 3 days. Is this normal? Will they ever get along?

I agree that they haven't had enough time, but in addition to the expert advice offered above, you may want to try a Feliway diffuser (not the spray). I've been using it for several months with my two cats, who both came into the house at the same time, but who still haven't totally worked out a good relationship. I can typically tell when the Feliway runs out, because within a few days, it seems like they start picking on each other more. Sigh...
