Automated feeder recomendations please

We have a Cat Mate 5 compartment automated feeder for when we just go somewhere overnight and on Saturday we fed Frankie and set up the feeder and then went camping over night and when we got home the next morning, we found that the thing didn't open at all cuz the compartment that holds the battery doesn't have a cover over it and our cat must have been hopping on the feeder and bounced the battery out. We felt so bad. I'm never going to use that feeder again. I'm going to see if I can get a refund or store credit and get rid of it. I can't trust it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good dependable automated feeder?

I've gotta tell you how great Petsmart is. I went to Pet Smart and told this guy about the battery falling out of the feeder and how our cat was starving this weekend while we were gone. I asked if they had this other one that got great reviews on the internet (PetSafe 5 Meal Feeder) and we looked and they did have it. We pulled it out and the batteries do have a cover over them so it should be much safer. I didn't have a receipt and when he tried scanning the old one it wouldn't come up and I thought great now I won't be able to get a credit. He asked if I was sure I bought it there and I told him that I'm positive and that I paid around $45 for it so he actually went ahead and just gave me a $45 credit. This new one was more expensive so I paid him the difference of $21. I can't believe he just believed the price that I said? Now that's good service!
