OMG - A butterfly landed on my hat!

We went to the last home game of the Oakland Athletics today. I wear my A's bucket hat, complete with all my A's pins, to each game. We were sitting at our seats before the game started, and all of a sudden, a butterfly landed on my hat! My head was in such a position that I could see it. I flapped its wings and stayed there for at least a minute if not two. My neck was starting to hurt, but who cared! It was so beautiful! Other fans were taking pictures of me. DH took a few but his center of focus was not on my hat.

I thought it was a sign of good luck and was sure that the A's would beat the Mariners. Sure enough, the A's came from behind and won 5-3.

It was a Western Tiger Swallowtail.

I would have loved to see pics.

Butterflies are everywhere here now, they are just coming out. I love spring.

A similar thing happened to a woman I work with. We were outside on break and a butterfly landed right on her head! Actually, I think it was a big moth, because it had furry antennas but who cares. She stood absolutely still while everyone got their camera phones out (I don't have one with a camera ) and after it flew away, she kept asking people if she had butterfly poop in her hair!

Consider yourself lucky. The only thing that lands on me are flies and mosquitos!
