I love William Shatner. I really do! But...

...But even people we love make terrible, terrible... terrible mistakes. So in the spirit of laughing with him and not at him -- and bearing in mind all the good work he's done -- I just have to share with you this YouTube clip from 1978:

Please, watch it all. It gets even more astounding around four minutes into it...

I've heard his "Lucy," but this... this is even more bizarre, don't you think?

And yes, he can overdo it as an actor sometimes. But in comedy, he's hilarious. And he can laugh at himself, so I give him great credit.

And there's still no other starship captain I'd rather serve with!

Over the river and through the woods...
Well, that was definitely an...um...interesting interpretation of the song. And to think I had a crush on him when I was 7! Of course, for the late 70's that was probably mild.

What scares me is I can kind of make sense of it...which probably means I had one too many beers! (hey, it's saturday night!
).

Not trying to imply anything but let me point out he slept with every woman on that show so...you may or may not want to serve on that ship if you keep that in mind.

It's good to be the captain.

My gosh, now I understand that one clip from an episode of Family Guy, when Stewie was "singing" those very words. Jeez, it's just awful, lol

Lenard Nimoy also made an album, oh those wacky startfleet folks.
Best Captain? Well I could start a Picard Vs Kirk fight, but thats another thread for another day.

Check this.

Oh my gosh!
Okay, that's very, very bad.

But at least it's lighthearted! At least it's not taking itself so seriously! Therefore, in my opinion, it still falls short of the Maximal Cosmic Hideosity achieved by the Shatner clip.

Any other contenders? Maybe we should nominate ten terrible clips and conduct a poll...

THe green ones were Orion, known for being, uh, friendly. (the Orion males had quite the slave trade gong with them) I know far too much about Star Trek for my own good! My name on another board is Datalor. (No e, I left that out)

Oh....come...on... now! *flailing arms*
Anyone a Boston Legal fan, he is great on that show! The interplay between him and the actor who's name I can never remember is great!
