I have a ferret, and I've been thinking of getting him a new cage. The one he has looks nice, and is a great size, but cleaning it is a pain in the butt. You have to unhook the cage from the bottom, and lift it up, and off (gives the little guy a great chance to slip out, and run off to wreak havoc). Then you clean the bottom out, and put the cage back into it. It's not horribly strenuous, but the cage is quite heavy, and big. It's a pain in the butt, if you do it often. Is there a brand that makes cages for ferrets where you can just slide the bottom out? Prefferably with a door on the bottom level big enough to fit a ferret litterbox through?

The Ferret Nation 142!

I use it for my rats.

It's big, lots of room to run and play and put hammocks, easy to clean because all four doors open all the way and you can convert it to two cages, if necessary.

Like the others said, the Ferret Nation is a great cage. It can be a bit expencive, but you can buy it off of people online from sites like kijiji.com. I saw one the other day almost brand new for 100$

Just remember if you get a cage from someone (or even buy one at a pet store) you need to dissinfect it before it comes into the house, more so for buying it form someone. It could pass some nasty things to your ferrets.

Good luck
