My cats have a problem with attacking another while they its going to the bathroom. This, as you can bet, causes many problems like poop upstairs and lines of pee coming from the litter box. My question is how do i make them stop? I have tried the litter boxes with tops, but our picky cat Samba we ended up with him peeing on more things. What should I do?

Not using covered boxes. Multiple boxes: putting them in different parts of the house, including upstairs. I recommend the 66 qt. Sterilite Clearview Storage containers. No top... 12 inches high. Translucent, so cats can see who is approaching. Harder for a cat to resource guard if there are multiple boxes around.
Don't place the boxes in closets or showers... those are places cats can get cornered and trapped.

i had that exact problem when we first got frodo. he would wait outside the litter and attack blue when she came out of the litter box. i didn't realize what was going on until she "told" me that she was hurting. i felt like such an awful cat-mommy. she walked right up to me and peed on my pants on the floor while she stared me in the eye the whole time!! smart kitty! it turns out that she was scared to go to the litter and was holding her pee and got a bladder infection from it (again, i feel totally awful about that!) so we figured out what frodo was doing so we got rid of the covered litter right away. we got a big tupperware type tub (like suggested above) and a regular sized uncovered box and we put them in areas that blue could see all around her when she was in the litter and could see if frodo was waiting to get her. this really helped her. there have been no more problems like that and frodo will be 7 in 4 days! so, 6 1/2 years problem free with better litter box "sight" for blue! i hope that it all works out for you soon!
