Close... although with a strong Irish accent is does sound like an A at the end

It is Eth as in Ethel and Ne like in Never although the official Gaelic pronunciation is Enya but no one gets that from Eithne (which is why she changed her name to that spelling) so my mum decided to go for a somewhat phonetic pronunciation

Like a few others have said, I tend to call people by their user name, even if I know their real name. Partially for the sake of others who don't know, but mainly because I feel that unless THEY say their name, I have no right to divulge it! And for me, that's on a post-by-post basis! So I hope no one minds.

As for me, I don't really care what people call me! Though if people use my real name on here, I don't usually recognize it as me! I think, wow, there's another Janet on here?? Because I'm just so used to people only knowing my user name here. So, call me Janet, Jan, BelongsToEvie, BTE (haven't seen that, but I don't mind!), Evie, Evie's mom, Peach's mom, hey you, what's-her-name...

Just don't call me your majesty or anything like that because I couldn't handle the pressure!

p.s. I generally call people by their usernames, because with a few exceptions I can't remember their real name! My memory is just AWFUL when it comes to names

I love Ireland. Dublin has become a very metropolitan city as of the last few years.
What a beautiful country as long I stay away from the whiskey.

Oh wow! That is a really cool name It is good to know how to pronounce it at last. I always thought it was pronounced Eethney.

Irish spelling is so confusing. I had a friend at school called Caryll ( pronounced Ca-rith ) and one of our vets had me confused for a while as she`s Irish and her name is Sheila but it`s spelt Sile

Oh lets just say I am tone deaf and people don't appreciate a drunk American singing Dannyboy at the top of her lungs whilst staggering around lost in the city centre.

I would imagine that they are so used to seeing it that it wouldn't get more than a head shake and amused smile
