Hello All,
I just joined The Cat Site! I have been a cat lover all my life, and currently have two angora mix males. They are litter mates and I adopted them from the Humane Society. I am married, and my husband is also a cat lover, which is great! However, I recently started volunteering at my local Humane Society. There is a beautiful calico there, who has been there for several years. She is about six years old. I really want to bring her home, bringing the total cats to three. However, my husband is against it. He thinks two is enough (our cats are completely indoor cats). I think he is worried about the costs and how the cats would get along. The cat at the Humane Society is in a room with about 10 other cats (they are not in cages), so I think she would be fine with my cats. My cats are very friendly and are not yet three years old, so hopefully not too set in their ways. As I said, they are male and the cat at the Humane Society is female. I have read all of the info on how to introduce a new cat to the household. I really don't think it would cost that much more per year to add another cat. Finally, I take care of all the daily tasks (food, water, litter boxes) and my husband does all of the weekly grooming (brushing, clipping claws, brushing teeth). Does anyone have any advice on how I can convince my husband. I think about this other cat all the time. I know she is being well taken care of, but just think she deserves a good home (like they all do).
Sorry for the long post. I am looking forward to getting to know fellow cat people!
