Hi all!

As you know we took in a little stray girl a couple weeks ago who has just given birth to a litter of 7 orange/orange and white/ white babies.

We had her vet checked before we brought her into the house. Neg for FIV and leukemia. Neg on worms as well.

Can the babies be pos for FIV and leukemia if mom was Neg?

Just worried because we don't know anything about the dad/dads.

She was a house cat that had been turned out twice by the previous owner when she went into heat. Disgusting...I know. They finally dumped her permanently and we took her in, as well as found a home for her first three kittens she still had in tow. She is only 9 months old. She is such a tiny cat. Sooo sweet too.

It is very very rare, but possible, at least in the case of leukemia. A couple years ago I adopted 3 FeLV+ babies from a litter of 5, 2 kittens were negative and the mother was negative
