For twenty plus years I have saved every shed whisker from eight cats. I'd like to do something creative with them, but cannot figure out what to do with 300 whiskers!

Does anyone have any creative ideas? Thanks!

I guess you could always make a crafted doll of some kind and use the whiskers for the hair? Or you could weave them into stuff. Or maybe glue them all together at the root ends and make a wand-type toy for the kitties to play with. You could maybe make them to make angel wings for a Christmas tree topper too.

Or you can simply put them into a scrap book along with pictures of your 8 kitties and keep them as little treasures.

I can't really think of anything, but I think the angel wings for a Christmas tree topper idea is really cool.
If I had 300 whiskers, and some initiative, I'd probably try to arrange them into some sort of an image, or pattern on a large piece of paper in a contrasting color, and frame it.
I'm guessing anything you do is going to take a lot of glue, and patience, haha. Good luck.

I keep whiskers in a special canister. When I find them I make a wish and put them in the container. My cats whiskers are kitty wishes.

You could make an abstract art project of them, on a dark canvas or other medium. Kind of like string art projects, but much more delicate. You would need crazy glue to anchor the root, small pins to hold the whisker in the shape you want, craft glue, and painters tape or masking tape to hold down the wispy end. I think if you have the patience for it it could be very beautiful! People will not know its cat whiskers, and if you tell them they will A) be quite impressed B) think you are a crazy cat person.

You could also braid them and arrrange that. It is an art form I would have to google I can't remember the name of it. I have enever seen that done with cat whiskers though!
Are you a Bloom County fan? You could make your own "Bill the Cat!" 300 whiskers should be enough to mimic all his freaky hair! (I would get a stuffed Bill though, then add to him, sure you can find it on ebay, heck what isnt on ebay?)

I find them everywhere, but they're especially easy to locate when stepped on as it feels like a razor! Ouch!

I've also found a lot in places where the cats frequently sleep.

Hmmm, that got me to thinking, becaue that is such a sweet thing to do. To the OP, if you don't want to do an art project, and wouldn't mind parting with the whiskers, you could get (or make) a very fancy, whimsical container, and take them to a childrens hospital. If they have a program that allows threapy animals to visit, all the better. Have the kids pick out a whisker, then make a wish on it. You could buy some cheap disposable cups and fancy them up a bit for the child to put their whisker in for safe keeping.

I save whiskers too! I only have a couple dozen and those I have stuck on the faces of stuffed animals that should have whiskers and don't (squirrels etc.). 300 is a lot, but I like the idea of making a kitty toy from them.

Thanks to all for your great ideas! I'm going to make some life-size cat faces (that look like the cats they came from) from construction paper, affix the whiskers and frame them. If they turn out well, I'll post some photos.
Thanks again.

I love my kitty whiskers. When I first found one I thought something was wrong. Now when I find them I play with them.

I have a little scrapbook and keep that kind of thing with all my pets in it.

Mitzi has one little tiny white whisker, so when that falls, it's going in there too!

I have been saving my cats whiskers for 20 years. Started as an acknowledgement of sorts to this constant furry presence that was always around in various shapes and colors, then I found a little vase (paperweight) so the whole pedestel of  whiskers can have its place in a jewelry box.
