Now both my kittens have been fixed, there won't be any scheduled visits to the vet until their annual booster shots.
But there seems to be a concern about over-vaccinating your pets since it can cause cancer. My doctor says that the cats will get the FVRCP plus the rabies every year.

What do you guys do for annual check ups? How often do you vaccinate your cats?

You are going to get different views. I think on this board i am in the minority but I think both sides need to be heard
This is my opinion
There is no proof that boosters extend the life of the vaccine and may actually shorten the duration. They can also kill or cause major health problems. I recommend the first set of vaccines for kittens and that is it.

I find these stats unreal

There are 3 year vaccines for rabies if your area laws permit. You could ask for titers before giving boosters.

I read an article in something at the vets office that stated they are now suggesting 3 yr boosters instead of 1 yr but do recommend they get yearly wellness exam.

I personally will not get boosters on mine providing my latest kitten survives the kitten series of vaccines. We will get only what is required by law. I think just do what you feel is right for you and your cat. Best of luck to you.

Mine will get yearly checkups, they are all one and I plan on doing 2-3 yearly shots for the show cats and probably won't vaccinate the non-show cats again.
We don't have Rabies here.

I Have 2 cats a 2 1/2 year old bengal..and a 3 year old aby..
My cat's will never be outside Sooo I refuse to get rabies..ever..!!
as I believe I will get rabies before them hear to many bad side effects
I just in past year lost my 23 year old siamese only had 2 shots in his entire
life..never left this house till he died..healthy as a horse same with my
13 year old bengal also died.. neither related from no shots

My siamese was allergic to the shots so he only had 2 i n 23 years!!!
my bengal had 2 both lived to expectancy...

I am so afraid of shots as well....side effects as I saw them first hand!

I believe it is up to where you live and if there is any possible chance
for them to escape...I know if my bengal or aby got out..I would
never see them again.. as they are gorgeous...and the bengal is very
friendly

I know lot's of you all will be against not getting shots!
but! i am on 3 and 4th level and my cat's never go near the door!
so I am in debate with my self...
