Hey everyone. My name is Tina D, and I am from Canada. I'm excited to find a kitty forum.
Been looking around, seems like there is lots to do.

I have a question and not sure where it goes, can't seem to find a "general cat nonsense" place for it haha.

My question is, I am going to visit a friend in the U.S for a couple of months and need to bring my cats with me. Someone suggested leaving them at home, but I live alone and do not have someone reliable to come visit them, besides they would be terribly lonely. Anyways, I am going from Canada to the U.S and I'm wondering what will happen when I try to cross the border?? Will there be a hassle? They are both recently updated on vaccinations and I will go to the vet and get anything they need done. Will I not be able to bring them across the border?? Thanks!!!

Glad to be here

P.S Sorry for asking a question in my intro :p

I am not sure how it works for cats. I was at the vet last week and someone was there having two dogs checked. She said she was getting a certificate of health so she could take the dogs across the border back to Canada. She said it was required. She and another person drove from Canada to Mississippi to pick up these dogs rescued from the hurricane. Awesome people.

Thanks all! As soon as I figure out how to post, I will. I am very proud of them.

I'm going to talk to my vet at my appointment in a couple of weeks, see what he says about it. Hope it's not TOO complicated! It's enough stress just getting them prepared for the drive.

Hi
and welcome!

Well, if you are driving be prepared for alot of meowing! Holly doesnt take it very well. I hope you are not flying... Have you looked into a professional pet sitter? They might not be too costly.

Looking forward to seeing some pics!
