Someone stole are Garbage can

My Husband went to put the Garbage in the Can and its gone.
Today was Garbage Day and he put the can back where we keep it around 10 am. Do we call the cops for that or just the Garbage Men?

Is it a city issued trash can/dumpster or one that you personally bought?
Our guys remove the torn up dumpsters - of course, they are the ones who put holes/dents in them to begin with.

Its a city can.
The Garbage Company is Gilton.
It was there after they came today and diapeared sometime after my husband but it back where we keep it.
Our Address is on it.

Does your city have trash cans they bought and gave to you or did you buy then on your own? If they were the cities I'd call 311 and talk to them and they should be able to replace it (and hopefully at no cost to you.) As for the police I'd still call 311 and ask if this is an issue the police can do anything about. Good luck getting this solved.

These cans are city issued and came with the house.
We will call Gilton tomorrow since they closed at 5.

I'd check with the neighbors first. Maybe one of them took it by accident (since you have your address on it). If you can't find it in the next day or two, then call the company and tell them someone stole it and you need a replacment.

Bet it was kids or something. Did you hear anyone around the house?

Gotta be kids doing something stupid like that! Who else is going to steal someone's garbage can for goodness sakes?!

We did check the Neighbors and they didnt see anything.
The other Neighbors didnt answer the door.
We even went down the street.
We called the Garbage Company today and they said call the Police first then call them back.
They will bring a new can tomorrow.
I even looked over the fence in the neighbors yard that didnt answer.

Gotta be kids.

It is amazing what people will steal! The garbage can has been stolen twice from our building in 4 years. Someone stole my friends window planters and her neighbors stoop planter!

In our area, you'd call Waste Management - you may want to try your area's public works dpt.

It didnt blow away andI do not think it was the kids because they were in school when it happend. A new one is coming today. The police gave a us a case number to give to Gilton. Our recycle can was behind the gate and is there still.
The garbage can was behind the palm tree in front of the gate when it was taken. Gilton said people still anything.

Was gonna ask if you have a new one. What happens if the old one turns up?

They did not tell us.
They said the new one will come today.
We are still waiting.
