Sunday night I saw 4 kittens in the parking lot of my apartment complex. I would say that they are about 7 or 8 weeks old. I gave them some food, which they devoured happily. Last night I also fed them and got close enough to almost grab one, but I didn't because I knew I wouldn't be quick enough and I didn't want them to be afraid of me.

I've been on the phone all day trying to find a rescue group to help me, but they all are at their capacity. I called the no-kill shelters, got the same response. I called Animal Control and the officer told me my heart was in the right place, but he's been checking everywhere to place 5 5 week old kittens he found and he's had no luck. (He told me that he's too much of a softie and they're coming home with him tonight)

I have no idea what to do. Even if by some chance I can trap them, what will I do with them? I have 3 cats at my apartment already. My lease says I can have cats, but I think 7 is pushing it to far. There just isn't any room. I really wish I was home and not away at school, because I would have fostered them in a heartbeat.

Is anyone else in the New Haven, CT area know of any more rescues?
I've tried all the ones listed on petfinder.

What about sort of just over the border in Westchester County, NY?

BTW - if you're in New Haven - are you at Yale?

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to expand my search. I really can't sit idle and do nothing for these precious kittens.

lol... and no, I don't go to Yale. I got to Southern Connecticut State University. It's funny though, I have had a lot of professors who teach both at Yale and my school. They present the course the same exact way, but I just pay a lot less tuition.

I would try to find them a foster situation or you may have to drive a little ways to find them space at a shelter.
