Monaxlisa won by using the word vet. Laureen227, who is on quite a streak, used the word day. Yam102284 used the word toy. Not used was lonely. And just when I thought marianjela was not going to use one of the words, she was the first to use Anne.

Today's KatKwiz was about our special guest who will answer your questions on multi-cat households and especially about behavior:
http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=176457

First of all, were you aware of our special guest? Have you already, or are you planning on asking our guest any questions? Do your cats exhibit any special behavior problems you would like solved? How many cats do you think qualifies as a multi-cat household? Finally, today's question was answered in only three minutes, nobody has ever answered in less than three minutes, does this seem like a miracle to you?

First of all, were you aware of our special guest?
Yes I was, I've read a few threads there already.

Have you already, or are you planning on asking our guest any questions?
No, any questions I have have already been asked, so Ill just keep reading the replies.

Do your cats exhibit any special behavior problems you would like solved?Yes, just got back from the vet for peeing issues, and Arthur is soo mean to Kinky.

How many cats do you think qualifies as a multi-cat household?
More than one.

Finally, today's question was answered in only three minutes, nobody has ever answered in less than three minutes, does this seem like a miracle to you? Well, maybe not quite a miracle :p It was probably answered so quickly because people are stalking the boards looking for hits about their SS people

Thanks Lee for the win again. I guess I just squeaked in there! Although I did use several words, I guess answering late was almost detrimental for me - but alas - I still managed to use an unused word - SHWEW!
Anyway, thank you! And hey, good thinking posting the KatKwery so early today, that gives any of our cubicle surfers time to post today instead of having to wait until tomorrow, but I am surprised only one person has answered still. Anyway... on to the Kwery.

I seen the announcement Anne posted about TCS's certified cat behavior consultant Ms. Krieger the other day. I was excited to read some of her advice. When I seen the KatKwiz today I knew the answer immediately, so it didnt surprise me that BelongstoEvie got the answer so fast. What does amaze me is that she seen you post so fast! Darn it too, because I was watching for your thread all morning
Although, it was for the best, because I dont have any cats in my signature... well no cat pictures, I do have their names listed though... but I seen that doesnt count. I do have them on the Cat Pages though, all three of them; therefore, they show up as little thumbnails near my username.

I havent posted a question over in the Expert Forum yet, well not for Marilyn, but I have in the past. I dont/didnt plan on asking any questions, but I have been over there to read some of the replies. I definitely have a multiple cat household. I have three and a half resident cats
and 7 foster cats right now (one mom and her 6 kittens). They dont really have any issues or behavioral problems that I can think of. But I look forward to reading some of the things other members are asking that I may not think of now. My biggest issue with having a multiple cat house is the kitty litter. But after reading threads and other opinions on the boards in the past, I think I have that pretty much under control for now, but I am always open for suggestions in that department!

In fact the other day I seen an ad on TheCatSite about toilet training cats. To say my interest was piqued is an understatement. I did click on the ad and read the information on it. Seems promising, but I like to wait and read other people's reviews.

I imagine anything over one cat is considered multiple, so you are right Lee, having two cats is a multiple cat house. If you have more than one cat that you have to worry about how the second cat will get along with the first and any other issues that come up with having several cats. in my opinion, cats are like potato chips. One is never enough
I think a few cats is perfect. Hehehehe however many that might be.

ANd Finally, although I kind of already answered it - I dont think it was miraculous that she answered so fast. The announcement was posted on the 13th so I hope that most of our members have seen and read it in the past 3 days. Of course I didnt remember her name, but I did know right where to go to look it up. The announcement is still stuck/posted at the top of the Cat Lounge. Again, the amazing part is how fast she noticed your post. Dang it all - I need to put some kind of bell on my computer to ring anytime your name pops up
If only there was such a thing. Hmmmm....

I was aware of our special guest and I have gone to the forum section a few times. I haven't wanted to ask a question, but I have been very interested in what other questions people ask. I was very interested in the "What is too rough?" question that was asked, because my cats are always playing, and I don't know if they are playing too rough or not. Besides the playing, there's nothing else the cats do that I would need to ask a question for.

It doesn't seem like a miracle for such a short time in answering the question. She could have just logged on and saw the question and knew where to find the answer or maybe she already knew it.

thanks for the points!
yes, i was aware of our guest - i've been reading the threads she's been answering. i'm not planning to post any questions, since my 5 seem to get along ok... at least at the present! the only behavioral problem i've ever noticed in any of mine was the usual - inappropriate elimination. both cats' issues were resolved w/antibiotics [plus a special diet, in Chip's case]. i would say [dictionarially speaking
] that 'multi-cat' would mean 'more than 1 cat' - so 2 or more would suffice!
oh, & if i'd been online [& noticed the thread as soon as it was posted] i could've answered in less than 3 minutes - because i'd already been reading in the multi-cat forum!

I knew about the special guest because I read the announcement that Anne posted. I am trying to think of a question to ask but as usual, everyday life has been occupying all my time. My girls are very well behaved for the most part. I think if you have more than one cat, then you are in a multi-cat household. You still have to deal with different temperaments. Even though my girls are sisters from the same litter, they can be as different as night and day. I don't think it is really a miracle that the KatKwiz answer was answered in three minutes and I think it is very possible for it to be answered in less than that. The person answering would have to be incredibly lucky, but it still possible.

Well, hopefully I said a secret word as I am on the bubble for the "chase" so to speak.

Let's see if I can remember to answer all of the questions this time.

First of all, were you aware of our special guest?
Yes. I was involved in the original discussion of what topic we wanted to cover, and was excited to see the thread posted.

Have you already, or are you planning on asking our guest any questions?
I've posted two questions, one of which it turns out Marilyn doesn't feel qualified to answer. She is specifically a behaviorist (is that a word?) and I was asking a nutrition question. However, I did get a helpful response from another TCS member.

Do your cats exhibit any special behavior problems you would like solved?
Of course. Don't all cats? My problem is with Goldy, the stray I adopted who had her kittens 3-1/2 weeks ago. She was a very calm, laid-back cat before the babies were born, but has been showing some aggressive behavior toward Shareena since then. I pretty much expected that. The weird thing is, she doesn't object when Shareena grooms the kittens. She only attacks her when they are in a different room away from the kittens.
She never attacks Miss Patchwillow, but that may be because of Miss Patchwillow's personality. She's fairly timid, even around the kittens. When one of them comes toward her she backs away until she bumps into something and scares herself silly.

How many cats do you think qualifies as a multi-cat household?
By definition it would be any household with more than one cat.

Finally, today's question was answered in only three minutes, nobody has ever answered in less than three minutes, does this seem like a miracle to you?
At least a minor miracle. Even if I'd been online when the question was posted it would have taken me longer. I knew about our guest and the topic of discussion, but didn't have a clue what CCBC meant. I did a search in the forums and came up with the Multi-Cat thread, then had to open one of the posts to find it. Is there any place on the TCS site that lists common abbreviations and initials?

Im aware of our guests who help run the Expert forums yes. I havn't seen yet what this guest will be answering questions about but last time on the little problems I did put up a post/thread so I probably will be asking something. Normally I do. My cats are what I consider to be of normal behavior! Anything they do such as suckling on the blankets I really enjoy, so if its not broke why fix it! I would think more than one would qualify as a multicat household. Two is a multiple, so my 3 I would guess/think would be a multiple cat household but you never can tell with these things. I have no idea what todays question was about but Im sure it probably was very quickly answered due to knowledgable people answering. Just like Katkwery, if you're not the first in there pretty much you're wasting your time! So if luvmycat1 or marienjela were to pop on at the same time you post and see the question Im quite sure it would be answered very quickly, probably jusst as fast as they can type! Some people have talent like that and the know how on whats going on on the cat site to know how to answer correctly, and if it was about the guest forums I would think that someone has probably been looking forward to the guests arrival! I know I always do! Being able to receive advice from someone who actually knows for sure the answer is awesome and who wouldn't look forward to that if they had a problem with something! The litter box one was great and Im really excited theres a new one coming, just reading through the threads on those you can learn so much that its fun! I can feel my brain getting new wrinkles! So the katkwiz today would probably have been easy due to the announcements made that she was coming! Not too hard, but yeah the abbreviations would have killed me, because I dont do the whole internet lingo thing, Im lucky to know what LOL means! With days growing shorter time is more valuable and its been increasingly hard to actually get on the computer at all! With the katkwery superbowl coming soon I should be checking on here more often to make sure I at least maintain a place in it, but since I have a pretty good idea Im not going to win anyways I havn't really been in the mood! I guess when you feel like a loser you are probably setting yourself up for failure so its my own fault!
So Ill try harder I think, I hope I will at least, but its not as easy as it use to be when you could just know you're going to use a secret word! Now I actually have to think and I can't seem to think about the right stuff right now! My brain is jumbled!

Congrats to all who won!
I really need to try to do this the evening before, so I have a better chance of getting a word!

Yes, I was aware of our special guest! Hard not to be, as, as everyone else has said, there are posts and announcements everywhere. As there should be!

No, I'm not planning on any asking any questions. I only have one cat! Any fosters I get aren't really here long enough to cause any questions. Yet!
I am watching and learning, so hopefully I will have a better chance if issues do come up!

And no, no real issues I'd like solved. Especially none relating to being multi-cat! Cronos has an obsession about suckling which I would like solved. But we are working on it together, and he is doing so much better! My feet are actually starting to heal.

I'm another to say that "multi cat" means more than one! Don't know why anyone would say otherwise...

Of course I think it was a miracle.
Not that the question was answered so quickly, as as we've all said, it's been announced everywhere and most of us probably knew it already. But one, it was a miracle that it was so fast anyway- that means I just happened to load the page at the right time. And two, it was a miracle that *I* got to answer! Usually these are either done before I get on (and I often get on at 6:30 AM! Y'all are insane!!), or, like today's, I just don't have a clue!
So I am quite happy! Even if having cats listed in your signature didn't count as having them in it.

So thank you!!!
