Silly question about Rice Bags...

This is probably a silly question but are the rice heaters used to keep the kittens warm etc placed under the bedding etc after they have been delivered and if so how do you make them and how long do you microwave for? I've taken in a pregnant girl (the vets seem to think she'll deliver soon) and trying to get everthing ready for mommy cats birth (If she ever decides to go into labour!!). Any advice would be great, I have (I think) everything else mentioned on the list within your forum

All microwaves are not created equal. Do some experimenting. Try heating the rice sock for 30 seconds, then lay it on your arm. If it's not warm, add a little time. If you get to a point where it's uncomfortable for you to keep it on your arm for more than a few seconds, back off on the time.

You probably won't need to use the rice sock unless the mother can't/won't take care of the babies for some reason, or if your house is really cold.

Thanks Goldy. My house is pretty warm but I thought I'd be prepared for anything nature wants to throw at me
