in the family...Fluffy is the type of kitty that is very touchy feely and is not a lap kitty at all..She will lay by your side and play with your shoe strings while putting your shoes on..
but I just love the way she loves my 5 year old daughter...I mean, she snuggles with her more than anyone and lets her hold her for longer periods of time..I don't know what it is about her, but I am just glad,,,,I am the one who feeds her, cleans her litter box, and brushes her, but she still prefers my 5 year old...
Our family is very lucky because both of our kitties love the kids so much and tolerate soo much from them.........anyway..just wanted to share

I keep reassuring my cats, that once my daughter (she's 3) grows up they will adore her, and it will be yet another wonderful lap to sit in! lol

My daughter is thrilled about animals, but just not gentle enough with them, and NEEDS to listen when I tell her to quit following them around the house all day.

All my cats are pretty tolerant, and they have the sense to just run away if they don't want to be bothered by her. Well one day, I walked into my bed room to check up on the kiddy (she was watching TV) and I saw her in my bed laying down with Asim laying with his front paws and head on her tummy and of course DD was thrilled as could be about this! I looked at him and said "Asim... Are you REALLY that desperate for a lap????" lol

I told my fiance the story when he got home and he said the same thing "wow he must have really been desperate for a lap."

My best friend had two siamese cats(father and daughter) and when my Goddaughter, Halley, was born she used to make a purring sound. We figured out that when Paula was pregnant, the cats used to sit on her stomach and purr. We think that Halley heard that sound when she was in the womb and she tried to imitate it. The father siamese cat would let Halley use him for a pillow. When she was a year old, she would fall asleep on the carpent with the cat as her pillow. It was so cute. He just loved her from the very beginning.
