Quite a while back I posted info on my 2 cats, Lilly the siamese and Tom the grey tabby. Lilly had to have a C section done and only 1 kitten survived. Well last week Lilly's kitten passed away from pnemonia and now Tom has pnemonia so bad that he is sneezing blood Lilly also is sick but, she is allmost fully recovered. Well, I took both of them to the vet and I got medicated eye drops and amoxicillin antibiodics for them. Tom is still really sick and he is starting to turn ferrel again. I found tom on the side of the road when he was about 4 months old and he made the acme wild cat look like a million bucks! He tamed down quite a deal especially after he was neutered but he has never let me hold him and he has never sat on my lap. Now he is as bad as he was when I first got him and I am seriosly debating on giving him away. He plays a lot with little pom pom balls and fuzzy mice and loves Lilly to no end but he is becomming a nuisence always fuzzing up at me, tearing up the house, trying to fight other objects that move, ect. I think that he is scarred because I just moved to a new home and he is sick and I have to wrap him up in a towel to give him his meds or my arm will look like shredded wheat! He most likely is'nt adjusted to his new enviroment because he can't smell all that good and doesn't like my roomates quite yet. Well as far as Lilly goes she is fully recovered from the surgery and is still adjusting to her kitten being gone. She now loves to come out of my bedroom and prowl around the rest of the house and socialize with everybody which made me very happy but Tom is staying put until I can get him under control! Thanks! take awhile to adjust to a new enviornment. He is sick, scared, in a strange place, with strangers. No wonder he is freaking out. Keep him in your room with his own food, water, and litter box. Do not allow anyone to come into the room except you. This is his safe place. The house may have had cats in it before you moved in and he is smelling them. This will add to his stress. Shampoo your carpets with an enzimatic cleaner to remove any urine that may still be in the carpets. Cats can smell even the tiniest bit. Give him at least a month in your room to recover and adjust to his new surroundings. He should eventually calm down. Please don't give up on him. He is just being a cat.
