Hello all! We just took in another stray cat a few days ago and found out yesterday for sure that she is pregnant. My fiance was the one who took her to the vet, but didn't get a lot of time to ask questions (nor did he really know what ones to ask). He only knew he was supposed to find out if she was pregnant or not, so he didn't get her any other treatment while they were there.

So, the vet said that this cat has ear mites, but since I wasn't there, my fiance didn't ask if she could be treated for it while she was pregnant. I did pick up the medication but I don't know if it's safe to give to her yet. Does anyone know? Since it doesn't actually go inside her body I'm thinking it might not hurt but I don't want to endanger the kittens. I did give her liquid dewormer when we first brought her in, but I didn't know she was pregnant then, I hope it didn't hurt them. I think she has tapeworms too, but I know for sure through research that I can't give that medicine to her until she's done nursing.

Does anyone know if it's safe to use the miticide on her though?

Thank you so much...this is my first pregnancy!

Well when I took my pregnant cat in for a check up I found out she also had ear mites and my vet treated her and sent home more to treat my other cats. My vet used "revolution" and i treated all my other cats with the same thing. I also gave my pregnant cat another dose 4 weeks after the initial one that the vet did.

I cant say 100% sure that its safe, but I trusted my vet and I never had any problems after she and I treated her.

Well, Revolution says it can be used on pregnant and nursing cats, but I'd ask the vet.
