Night time lovin'. anyone else have a midnite lover kitty?

My dorabella has gotten SO big to be just under 4 months. Lately she has a new habit. Around 2 a.m. every morning I am awaken to a loudly purring love bug rubbing me and giving me kisses. When I try to turn or toss to get away she plops back on me, this goes on for what seems like an hour.

I wouldn't think this is a premature heat since she only does it at this time. Does anyone else have special kitty activities during the night?

Oh that is my favorite thing that Jordan does. Every night when I go to bed he comes & cuddles up next to my head. He usually gets up for a while, but always comes back. His warm fuzzy body & loud purr help me sleep better. To me there is nothing more soothing than a purr, I just wish I could purr back so he knew how content I was when he sleeps next to me.

Indeed yes. First Bijou lays on my pillow with his body pressed against my face and purrs loudly. Then he licks my eyelids, chin and cheek. Then he goes lower to lick my neck (in the area where he used to suckle as a kitten). Finally he moves down under the covers with his head on my pillow facing me. Sometimes he'll settle immediately into sleep, then other times he has to clean my nose and face again.

He sometimes gets up in the night to have a nibble then will come back to bed and repeat the above process before settling back down. Unfortunately I have to be facing in a specific direction or he will walk all over me until I turn over for him to settle down again.

Chestnut climbs up on my chest as soon as I roll over onto my back for he midnight lovin' I love it though, I' sure i'd miss not getting woken up everynight for some kitty bunts and needing! I even woke up this morning to Tonks suckeling on my shirt!

Zane usually joins me right after I get in bed for a little cuddling. He'll then go to sleep and may stay there all night or may come and go. Sometimes he wakes me when he jumps back up, sometimes not. He'll usually be there when I wake up in the morning, though.

Tubee likes to cuddle up next to me under the covers at night. It is the only time he is truly lovey, other times he just acts like he is tolerating it Maybe he realizes that under the covers no one else can see he is being lovey with his mommy!

This is so funny that you bring this up! The past 3 mornings, I've awakened around 4, 4:30, 5:00 to Larry staring at me. He's joined me in bed (it took him awhile to do this), and is curled up right next to my head, and his purring is so loud! He's perfectly comfortable, but he's just staring. When I wake up, I just start petting him and he rolls over so I can get his tummy and then I fall back asleep.

But it's so comforting to see him there! He never used to do this!

Belle has a internal alarm set for 5am. This is when she gets antsy for some attention and wakes me up with her motorboat purrs in my face. I give her a couple of rubs and then go back to sleep. Sometimes she lets this happen, others she keeps at it until she's satisfied with the attention she had received.

Even better is when she decides she wants to play in the middle of the night and drops her toy mice onto me.

I'm not a huge fan of it, but I have to say I miss it on the few days she doesn't come wake me up!

When Maia was a kitten, her favorite place to sleep was curled up on my chest! Though she has definitely out grown this, she often attempts to still, but it doesn't last long! She is almost 3 now and definitely loves to curl up, when it is cooler weather, between my legs, on top of the blankets at night ! I have woken up to apologetically tossing her from her snuggle area turning in my sleep ! She also checks in around 6am every morning. God forbid I move, that means I could be waking up to feed her! She is very respectful in this manner though......... if sniffing, gentle paw on the face, and walking over me doesn't work, she lies down close to my head till I wake up......... !

Kaeli is almost always cuddled up against me or in DH's spot any time I'm in bed. Abbey comes and goes, but usually she wants her middle of the night purrzing and lays on me, so she's queen of the hill, no matter how I'm laying in bed. Sometimes its hard to breathe!

Good thing I can be bribed to share my bed with a little purrzing

My Patch and Charlie comes up on the bed at about 2:00 or 3:00 and puts their behinds in my face because they want me to scratch the base of their tail and they are relentless. Below is the funniest video.

It might not be cute after a while. My guy does that at exactly 2 am each day (he's 5 but adopted from a shelter only 3 months ago). The loss of sleep is really getting to me, and I've tried everything under the sun to get him to wait to at least 4--without much success. He is VERY attached, so I really hate to banish him from the bedroom, but I'm getting desperate. What is it with these cats and 2 am?

Felix usually wants to play at 2 and 3am.. and sometimes 4am. If I move my hands/arms/legs/feet under the blanket he'll pounce on me. One time he spazzed out and was chewing and kicking at my feet He got pushed off the bed for that... But he usually is a nice kind of playful, will purr, and usually lay down and sleep with me after pouncing all over the bed

Zane is usually content after a little petting to curl up next to me and go to sleep agian.

This PM, after church, I lay down for a nap. He joined me almost immediately. Purrs are soporific.

Bast and Loud Mouth mostly just sleep quietly with me. Marmalade has to be petted and licks my face. If the food dish is empy and I'm trying to sleep past their normal feeding time, she'll nibble on my fingers! Not, there really is no snooze button on a cat who wants breakfast!

My big boy, Douglas, will come in about 4:00 am every morning and start lifting my fingers with his claws and putting his head under my hand so I will pet him. He is persistent, if my hands happen to be under the covers he will keep digging until he finds them...sometimes he'll let me take the lead and pet him instead of him doing it himself...then we have a little kneading and then back to sleep...I don't mind at all, I love it.

I have a "sneaky snuggler" as well. I often wake up to find Callie asleep beside me and she wasn't there when I drifted off. She also is a little love bug at 4am. She wants me to wake up for some food, but she really knows that's when I have to get up to go potty!! She just purrs so loudly and gives me lots of head butts. I know I only have a few years left with her (she's getting older and has some health concerns), so I treasure each time she wakes me up. After she's had her little mid-night snack, she comes back to the bedroom with me and goes back to sleep.

Bruschi( Bru-Bru) is our midnite snuggler. He is the most affectionate cat I ever owned. He puts his paws on your face and takes little love bites on noses. He is such a love bug. Most of the other cats I've had and have now love to be with you but will mostly sleep near feet etc. Not Bru-Bru,,,,he loves the neck ,face area. He was even more of a cuddler the first few weeks. He would put his whole body on your face and neck if you were laying in bed lol

moo is a bit time cuddler. He always jumps up on the bed even when I'm just sitting down to put on my shoes! Every night he cuddles next to me and every morning he jumps on me with his icy paws (but now that its starting to get cold he will get under the covers with me) and he just licks my hand and purrs loudly and kneads until he passes out.

Lately Tilly has been joining me also for alot of cuddling and attention. which is great because she never was much of an affectionate cat. But now she wants her loving every morning and sometimes at night. but she is all over me in the morning...she even follows me into the bathroom and strands on her back legs and touches my thighs with her front paws while purring as I am brushing my teeth! soo cute!

But again I love it...its so comforting to know my two little kitties love me so especially when I have a bad day.
