Do you have a Favorite Comedian?

I was thinking about this this morning. I am planning on watching the Jeff Dunham DVD Stop The Insanity this evening and was wondering about everyone else's taste in comedy.

I have several comedians that I really enjoy, John Pinette, Ron White, Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy and the late Richard Jeni...

How about you?

Jeff Dunham is great. I love "Achmed, the Dead Terrorist."

Here's a scary thought. I have a friend who taught Band up on the north side of Dallas, and he had both Jeff Dunham and Bill Engvall in his band.

I like Kathleen Madigan, also. John Pinette is funny, and Bobby Collins.

Gosh, there are so many good ones.

Bob Newhart
Monty Python gang
Jeff Foxworthy and the other Blue Collar fellows

and, one of Canada's best - Derek Edwards. I go to youtube every once in awhile to get my Derek fix.

I have a short attention span when it comes to comedians. Not big on them. Although, I thought Bob Newhart was really funny.

I do like Ellen DeGeneres, though. And Margaret Cho makes me laugh out loud. Craig Ferguson, also, makes me laugh out loud. I used to love Lily Tomlin when she was still doing standup - I like the comedians who do characters.

the late George Carlin, Ron White (& the rest of the blue collar gang), Brett Butler, the late Sam Kinison. There are several I've seen that were funny but I don't remember their names.

The late George Carlin
is my favorite comedian of all time. I have some of his books and am very sad that I never had the chance to see him live.

I also enjoy:

Jeff DunHAM
, Achmed especially
Eddie Izzard!
Margaret Cho
Patton Oswald (because I can deflect bullets with the power of my rocking!)
Josh Blue

I love stand up!

I don't make a point to watch comedians, but occassionally if there's nothing on I will tune in to Comedy Central and apparently I'm easily amused cause everything makes me laugh

Favorite comics I've seen live:
Robert Klein, Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Stephen Wright, Robin Williams, George Carlin, and the late great (though deeply disturbed) Bill Hicks. (I guess Leslie Neilsen doesn't really count, but I saw him do "Sleuth" live and he was terrific!)

Favorite comics I have not seen live:
Bob Newhart, Lily Tomlin, Lucille Ball (sure she counts!), Sid Caesar, Mort Sahl, Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie, and Drew Carey.

Lots of good choices coming down the line...

I think the reason John Pinette is one of my favorites is a bit he did in his Nay Nay comedy special...For those of you who have never seen him he's this big blonde guy seriously over-weight, with this cherub like face.
Imagine that doing a perfect imitation, voice, dance moves, everything of Micheal Jackson singing Crossing the River Jordan...from Free Willy..
I laughed so hard the first time I saw it I almost choked..It was hilarious..

Pinette does a mean "Over the Rainbow," too!

"Some say this is fun, but I say, 'Nay nay!'"

No patience for lines!

I adored George Carlin; he was an absolute genius.
Robin Williams is amazing; I'd love to see inside that man's head.
Steve Martin used to be so much funnier than he is now. Used to be he could just stand on a stage, say absolutely nothing, and I"d be rolling on the floor.
Ellen Degeneres is an absolute hoot.
Tina Fey, the late Gilda Radner, and people you'd never think of as 'comedians'---Alec Baldwin & Christopher Walken are hilarious
