Have you ever had one of "those" days, where just about everything seemed to be "jinxed"?
I had my disability hearing yesterday, which in spite of everything, seems to have turned out well.
I won't know what the decision is, till they make a ruling - which should be in about thirty days. The "bad" part about it was the fact that my SSD attorney didn't show up on time.
When he wasn't there by the scheduled time, the lobby guard let me use his cellphone to call his office, to find out what was going on. The receptionist said he was running late, and had tried to call me (which was not only redundant b/c I obviously was not home, but also not true - which I found out when I got home and checked the caller ID). She also said that he called the judge, which was another lie b/c the judge and the lobby guard told me that no one had called to inform them of what was going on. I wasn't p-o'd over the fact that he was running late - those things happen. But the fact that he lied about calling did make me angry.
He was also supposed to call the day before the hearing, and he never did that, either. Very unprofessional IMO.
I'm fixin' to hire another attorney, if my case is denied again and I have to file another appeal.
On the way home, we were almost killed when some
pulled out right in front of us.
When I saw him coming, I turned to look back so I could get into the other lane, and when I looked forward again the idiot was in the lane I was fixin' to go in to.
So I stepped on the brakes to try to slow down, and quickly turned back into the other lane again. We slid a ways and swerved around some, but I somehow managed to keep the truck under control and we weren't hurt. I guess the Lord was watching out for us.
What really ticked me off most of all was the fact that the jerk was laughing over the incident!
Maybe HE doesn't care if he's killed, but I sure do!! I have my furbies to take care of, and I wanna see my granddaughter grow up!
So we finally get back into town, and go to pick up our car (we had to borrow a friend's truck, b/c our car isn't in the greatest shape and wouldn't have made the trip - which was about a two hour's drive). On the way home, OUR car breaks down.
Luckily, the friend's wife happens to drive by and sees us stranded on the road, and was kind enough to let us use her car to get back home. Bless her heart!
After all that, I was actully afraid to go home, for fear of finding one of the cats sick or something.
What a day!! But I'm grateful to be at home and alive!!
I definitely believe that the Lord was watching out for us yesterday!!
