I posted about two months ago about my mom's cat. She had some sort of face disease that left her face full of scabs. Mom took the cat to two different vets, both ran lots of tests, and still they couldn't figure out a thing! I don't know what the deal was. One vet was even a cat specialist!

The poor cat has been on meds every day of it's life for the past six months (nearly it's whole life). You've got to expect consequences when you have vets that don't know what the heck is going on and they give you treatment after treatment.

Well anyway. This is where the sad story gets even more sad. Three weeks ago (one week after she was spayed) she started peeing on my little sister in her bed at night?! A week goes by and the cat starts to pee on the kitchen counter regularly! Then another week goes by and she starts pooping AND peeing on the counter!

She goes to the vet again. They decide that the medications have somehow given her brian damage and she needs to be PTS! Oh my gosh!!!! You try to treat the poor thing, and it ends up killing her more or less! It's so frustrating.

The shelters won't take her because of her potty problems, the vet wants her put down, and my mom can't keep her if she's going to pee and poo all over the house. That's just not sanitary!

So I think her only choices are:
A) put her to sleep
or
B) take her to the farm
(which is where she came from before mom adopted her, just not the same farm she came from.)

I have no idea what's the right choice/the best choice. I just know my mom can't keep her, and my mom doesn't want to put her to sleep. It's a sad story either way. I'm glad I don't have to make the choice.

Oh my gosh!!! I didn't even think about that!
That's how Leya went blind!!!
Oh my gosh I bet that's what did it! That makes me even more mad!

My Coco could not be fixed because it would have killed her. I was lucky though because the vet did tests and she didnt pass. Can she complain to the vet. I hope there is a chance she will get better.

In all honesty, if she has brain damage.....does she have the skills to survive on a farm? What about the health issues, will she get treated if they arise again?

If not, then sending her to a farm isn't an option.

That's what I was wondering......

I'll have to let mom know.

I can't be sure if she has the skills. She's a little out there, and she seems to be getting progressively worse.

I have to say this was also my first thought. I think it would be very unfair to put her out on the farm and expect her to be able to cope. IMO it would be more humane to have her pts at this point and let her go gracefully over the bridge to pounce and play with all our kitties who have passed over. It's a heartbreaking story and a difficult decision but the most humane I believe.
