One of my coworkers cat (Wilson) and he apparently fell behind the washingmachine and made the laundry soap fall with him, well not only did he get stuck there but the cap on the soap cracked open and the kitty got it all over, AND CLEANED IT OFF!

The poor baby is letharigc, not eating, urninated while lieing down and didn't move and he has chemical burns in his mouth and throught!

He is at the vet (of course) on IV fluids and they of course are doing numerouse tests.... has anyone else been though anything like this? Do you think Wilson will be okay?

My coworker is so worried!

OHhhh poor kitty I hope he does pull thru. Good reminder of where you store your laundry powder!

Ours is on the floor with a tight lid.

I have never heard of this happening before. I am really clueless about the things that can seriously harm a cat.

Poor kitty. I'll be thinking of you and kitty.

I just got an update on Wilson:

"blood and urine are checking out ok... heart seems ok. they are still running tests and administering fluids, he will be overnite... hopefully this is all fever related and not toxins related"

Everything looks good maybe his tummy really hurt. Cleo has swallowed stuff and then been off for a day or two. Hopefully all will be well with Wilson.

OH MY GOSH! THIS HAPPENED TO ME!
No lie. My cat got caught up with some laundry soap and licked it off. It was tough times, and it was liquid soap so he got burns in his throat which is why he wouldn't eat.

He spent 5 days in ICU on IV fluids to boost his system and he got better, he still coughs from the scar tissue in his throat and lungs though, other then taht he is 100%. Cello's blood tests were all wonky and had me REALLY worried. The soap is a bit poisenous so it just takes time to get it out of their system, if he was in good health before he will pull through

tons of vibes to kitty

Wow! I had the scare of my life reading this post. I had left my cat in the basement and then remembered there was soap powder around the laundry machine. Needless to say I came back full speed home praying he didn't walk on it and then licked the soap. My cat is such a groom freak. Thank god he was ok.
