Really nice and we have been talking for a little while. He has never had cats before but he does like them and has no problem with me wanting cats. He doesn't love to read long novels, well he can never seem to finish them, but he loves poetry and can quote walt whitman. He does not hunt like myself but he doesn't judge other people for it. He believes dogs and cats are family not just animals. He is a really gentle person. He is happy with me as I am. And I really do like him he is from New England so its interesting to meet someone from a different part of the country than me. He teases me about my accent. His is not quite as detectiable. He is not jealous and does not try to tell me who I can and can't hang out with. His bestfriend loves cats as well so I might have us a new member at some point.
I am so happy but he does not quite understand why I have a bit of butterflies. I have liked people before and been nervous that it might not work out for one reason or another. Oh and he asked me to go with him to New Hampshire this Christmas to meet his family but I don't think I can get the time off of work so I don't know if I will be able to.

Only thing is I am afraid of flying and he seems convinced that he can help me overcome that fear but I am terrified of flying and in my head my luck would be that the plane would crash the day I tried to fly and besides for some odd reason I am terrified of esculators and moving sidewalks although I have gotten on esculators I really don't like them. and I just about have a panic attack when getting on them.

Sounds like you are opposite in some ways and you know what they say about opposites!

Hope you get time off to go to NH for the holidays. "Yankee" Christmases are just wonderful.

Awww sounds promising. Hope things work out. If it gets serious, keep in mind - if you cannot see being with him for the next 50 yrs, then don't marry him

I understand about the "accent" part. DH keeps telling me I have one (from Maryland). I suppose I have to admit to a little of the southern accent at times.

But being from NE - they have an accent up there!

Congrats! Don't worry, when you've found the right one all those concerns about whether it will work out melt away and you're not uncertain any more. I was flighty and detached in all my previous relationships, but I haven't questioned this one for a second and I don't think I will.

Just remember not to rush it! Some things are much better when they're savored, and you never get back those first few butterflies-in-the-stomach kissing-on-the-front-porch moments.

Good for you
I understand about the butterflies. DBF and I have been together for 4 1/2 years and have lived together for 3 of those years. I still get butterflies when he comes home in the evenings
It's called love.

He seems like a great guy

We see alot of things alike and he lets me be me. He laughs cause I love to read and I tell people not to bug me when I am wrapped up in a book. He thinks I have a rather thick accent which I do but I was raised in the country in Kentucky so I can't help it. Yall would think I have one too if I had a mic and could join in on skype.
He is just such a kind man and he is so gentle and I think its wonderful its like a breath of fresh air from the normal around here most of the people here, which he lives near me a town or so over, they think being a man means you have to be violent and you have to drive a big truck and have the meanst dog on the block. And he thinks like I do in that being am man is about a whole lot more than that. And I now sound like a lovestruck teenager.
