I'm just so sad at the moment.
I left for NZ from Japan at the start of July, leaving Ginger with my husband and 2 weeks later she just vanished.
She's such a friendly cat that we're all hoping that she has been cat-napped rather than any alternative.
She hadn't been able to eat cat biscuits for about 5 months previously which had me worried but was otherwise fine.
My DH & DS are leaving for NZ in 2 more weeks and she still hasn't returned and so we are left without knowing whats happened to her.

I miss my furbaby

I hope your little one comes home before your dh has to leave...if not, I hope she has a wonderful new family who will watch over her for you. So sorry...I know how you must miss her.

that is sad. Not knowing is awful. Do you have any neighbors that you got to know in Japan that can keep an eye out in case she shows up? Were you in Japan just temporarily?

Thankx for all your good wishes.
We were in Japan for over 8 years and got her as a abandoned street kitten, bottle feeding, the lot.

My son is the one who misses her the most as they were great pals and she would even ride in his bike basket.
Its been hard without his Mum AND his cat.
She was well known by the entire neighbourhood so its a real mystery as to where shes gotten to, such a social butterfly.
To be honest this will probably be my last post as she was the reason for me joining in the first place.

You've all been wonderful to me and somehow I don't think she'll be turning up

We're in no position to get another pet for a year or two.
Thankyou again.

My sympathies to you and your son on the loss of your wonderful girl. She must have been quite a character to ride in the bicycle basket and visit the neighborhood.

I know what it is to have a cat just go missing. It is awful -- the initial anxiety and finally the resignation that they are gone.

I sending my prayers and vibes to you and your family

I hope that your dear Ginger eventually shows up
I know that it is hard losing them (my rescued kittens would have been 1 year this month, and the workers let them out of the house, where they quickly reverted to feral and then went missing); it is torture to think of them.
I am sending prayers and vibes out for the rest of us that you will rejoin us again - I loved reading your posts and you are a treasured member of our TCS family. Who knows but you may wind up being adopted by another kitten (maybe a lonely neighborhood kitty who gets food & shelter elsewhere, but gets companionship from your family)
