friends cat got sprayed by skunk! WHY?

this is not the first time i have seen this happen!

Skunks are only suppose to spray when they think their life is in serious danger I dont understand why they go around spraying cats?!?!?

Do cats actually try and kill skunks? I didnt think a cat saw a skunk as a possible prey item, a skunk is like 10X the size of a rat!

The cat may have thought it was another cat. Or the skunk got cornered and the cat got sprayed.

That's one of a ton of reasons why cats should stay inside or only be outside supervised.

There are simple formulas on the net on how to wash a pet that gets sprayed by a skunk - tomato juice is NOT one of the ingredients. Hope the cat is ok.
