We have 6 cats of our own indoors which is the amount we are satisfied with. For the past 2 years of living in this neighborhood we have noticed a rather large stray cat problem. So we do what we can, we leave out food and water for the strays so they at least get some clean nutrition. About a month or so ago 2 of the strays needed some help. One had a messed up neck (which we went to the vet and got that fixed up, he needed surgery but is fine now), and the other was pregnant. We brought both into the house so they could do what they needed to indoors without fear of the outside encroaching.
There are still quite a few strays outside and a few of them just live in our back yard all the time. One of our neighbors kids started giving me grief today because the strays are pooping in their yard. According to her their dog is eating it and getting sick. She expects us to do something about it because she thinks they are our cats. I explained they are strays and we jsut feed them but I doubt she cares.
I just get so irritated that people dump these cats off in our area and then when someone tries to help them out a little the people that live here so obviously don't care or want to care.
