It is time for plum cake!

Every year at this time, Italian prune plums come into season. It is not a long season, but every year my Aunt Lotty made plum kuchen (cake). She has a secret recipe.

So I bought the plums. When we spent summers in the Catkills, we didn't have a plum pitter. We had to score the plums and remove the pits so that they would be in a petal shape. This was definitely a labor of love and a labor of love. Aunt Lotty gave me the recipe.

Years ago they developed a plum guillitone. So much easier to get those plums pitted and in a petal shape.

Making it tonight when it gets cooler and we can have it tomorrow.

Oooooohhhhh, plummmm caaaaaake... recipe, pleeeeeeease???

Now, you can't just come along and tease us like this! We've got to have that recipe!

I'm surprised since that recipe is not common at least not around here. My mom also made it fairly often. Good Luck!
